Rockstar Editor Shutting Down On PS4 Next Month

In case it flew under your radar, Rockstar offers a simple solution to immediately share videos to YouTube directly on console that will cease operations on PS4 and Xbox One soon. Considering how far into the life cycle we are for PS5, we can’t say it’s shocking.

As stated by Rockstar in a Newswire post, it is approaching the limits of what it can do to keep GTA Online afloat on previous-gen consoles. By cutting the support, it will help the sustainability of the online-only romp. The Rockstar Editor’s final day will be February 20. After that, all clips and projects will be deleted.

Support for the editor will remain in full force on the PS5. If this is any indicator it won’t be until we eventually see the PS6 before we will see that generation fizzle out of support. If you aren’t clear how to save, export, and store your clips, then Rockstar’s got your back with some instructions, which you can read below.

  • Open the Rockstar Editor
  • Select Video Gallery
  • Select the Project you want to Export
  • Select Upload to YouTube, then yet
    • If no YouTube account has been linked to your Rockstar Games account, then select Yes to continue to link your accounts
    • Follow instructions to link your YouTube account to your Rockstar Games account
    • Return to game after linking the accounts
  • If you agree to the Sharing Policy, select Upload
  • Confirm your video title, then the video description, tagging, etc.

Welp, The Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer Just Dropped

Just like Rockstar Games promised, Grand Theft Auto 6 saw its first trailer drop earlier today, and as expected, it’s mostly a sizzler to give us a little atmosphere about what to expect as we head forth into the next entry.

Rockstar dropped the new trailer on YouTube, confirming reports of a female protagonist named Lucia. It’s also clear that we’re heading back to Vice City in all its sinful, Florida-man-inspired glory. While we don’t know anything about the game’s overall story, we’re sure like all other GTAs, Rockstar has quite a banger in its hands.

The most notable thing, though, the game’s closer than we thought it would be, releasing sometime in 2025.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer Drops This Week

Most people anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 to be announced at The Game Awards on December 7, but apparently not, with Rockstar Games planning on a day before. This reveal comes after last month when the studio announced nonchalantly that it would be dropping the first trailer in December, but lacked any time or date at the time.

“Trailer 1” of GTA 6 , however, was unveiled on December 5 at 9 AM EST/6 AM PST. Outside of that little info dump, nothing else is in the post.

This has been a long time coming, as fans have been begging for the next entry in the GTA series for years now. It isn’t clear what the trailer will show, but if we had to guess, it’ll largely be a core concept trailer featuring the main protagonist and a brief glimpse at the city we have to explore.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Teaser Post Breaks Records

GTA 6

Rockstar Games’ recent four-post thread on Twitter has left quite an impression, even without a proper trailer, artwork, or screenshot. Earlier this month, the New York dev bizarrely announced that it would drop Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer in early December.

As pointed out by PSLS, the single post within that four-post thread is sitting at over 1.5 million likes and makes history as the site’s most-liked gaming-related post.

We still aren’t certain about its release date, but prior reports indicate that it’s closer than many probably expect, with the game possibly out before March 2025. We know a year sounds like a long wait, but considering GTA 5 is still selling like crazy, we’re kind of glad it isn’t waiting for the previous entry to “fall off.”

Grand Theft Auto 5 Still Sells Like Hotcakes

Grand Theft Auto V

We’re finally going to get a glimpse of what’s next for the Grand Theft Auto franchise after the immense success of Grand Theft Auto 5, but even so, it’s still selling like hotcakes. The game’s been out since 2013 and has more or less defined a generation of gamers.

Rockstar Games parent Take-Two Interactive shared sales records of its major IPs, showing that the controversial franchise’s “most recent” entry is still selling over 100 million units a year. According to the quarterly fiscal presentation, GTA 5 alone has sold over 190 million copies this year, which is actually a boost from previous reports back in August.

Overall, Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold around 410 million units. Meanwhile, its western counterpart, Red Dead Redemption, stands at 81 million total units sold. If the momentum keeps up — and we imagine it will — it’s very possible that the crime and yoga sim could sell over 420 million by the time GTA’s next entry hits the market.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer In-Bound

Take-Two

It’s been a when-will-they-when-won’t-they situation for Grand Theft Auto 6 — we knew it was in development, but Rockstar Games has been tight-lipped. Now, though, it’s since been confirmed that the studio’s planning on releasing the first trailer for the next GTA.

Rockstar said this directly on its Twitter, where it earmarks “early December.” That time frame is typically The Game Awards, so we anticipate that it will be a mid-show reveal or perhaps a last showcase. It’s also possible, though, that it could just randomly show up on the studio’s social media, as the studio does like to do its own thing.

Granted, the announcement of what will no doubt be the studio’s biggest reveal does seem more at home during TGA than just on Twitter. But we’ll see.

What do you think? Do you think this trailer will be anything substantial, or will it just be another Elder Scrolls 6? Confirming that it’s being worked on but nothing more? Let us know below!
