PowerWash Simulator Lets You Scrub The Tomb Raider Manor

PowerWash Simulator

Ahead of PowerWash Simulator releasing on PlayStation consoles, it seems FuturLab has revealed a free crossover coming soon. The powerwashing sim has exploded in popularity thanks to its comforting and rewarding system and with the simple gameplay, feels right at home with doing crossovers.

Earlier this week, FuturLab revealed they’ve partnered with IP owner Crystal Dynamics alongside Square Enix to bring the iconic Croft manor from the Tomb Raider series into the game. The content will be a free update for all and will release coinciding with the PlayStation launch.

Despite the game being published by Square Enix, as of late last year, Tomb Raider rights were passed off to Crystal Dynamics, the ones who have been in charge of the latest entries of the series. Lo and behold, in this update, you’ll get to know what it’s like cleaning the Croft manor. We’re not sure exactly how it ended up as disheveled and grime-covered as it is, but we don’t ask questions, we just powerwash.

FuturLab marks January 31, 2023 as the game’s release date.

Official PowerWash Simulator update description

“Wash Lara Croft’s home back to its former glory with the soothing sounds of high-pressure water in the new Special Pack coming to the game.”

PowerWash Simulator Power Washes To PS5, PS4 This Month

PowerWash Simulator

Indie developer FuturLab is releasing their cult hit, PowerWash Simulator, on the PS4 and PS5 later this year. That’s right, you can wash up all that built-up digital muck with your DualSense — hopefully, it uses the haptic feedback to its fullest.

We’re sure you’ve already heard of this niche sim game, but just in case, it’s exactly what it says in the title. You take on the role of a powerwasher who takes on odd jobs to clean anything from vehicles to houses to playgrounds, and beyond. The game really hit the right spot for a lot of people who like that “accomplished” feeling of getting something caked with muck clean. Heck, you can even bring a friend along for the ride in some zen power washing co-op.

It helped that it got plenty of attention for its relaxing demeanor, and the fact Square Enix published it helped, too.

We knew the game was coming to the consoles, but it was all a mystery as to when until now. You can pick up PowerWash Simulator for the PlayStation line on January 30.

Velocity 2X Developer: Driveclub Is Just Too Good To Ignore

Okay, so it didn't have the smoothest launch in the world.

In fact, many would argue that the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive Driveclub was basically unplayable online when it first arrived.

However, developer Evolution Studios has worked hard to iron out the kinks and besides, there's a darn good game beneath these issues. How good? Well, Velocity 2X studio FuturLab thinks it's the best game of 2014; check out what boss James Marsden had to say on Facebook :

"Words don't really do it justice but here goes: DRIVECLUB on PS4 is utterly fantastic. A perfect balance of arcade simplicity dressed up as realism. Mind boggling attention to detail on the visual side, beautiful lighting and dynamic weather effects add to the sense of immersion, and a pitch perfect learning curve/reward system with wonderful weighty physics makes it stupidly addictive. The thrill of flying around a shallow bend at 150mph to undercut the competition, with camera shaking and controller vibrating in your hands whilst the engine growls and the tyres squeal is unbeatable. Get it!"

We said in our review that Driveclub had a fantastic foundation and despite it feeling somewhat empty, it was a really entertaining racer with true next-gen visuals. As time goes on, it'll get more and more impressive, so you should definitely consider giving it a try.

And speaking of GotY, FuturLab's Velocity 2X has a darn good chance of winning GotY 2014 for Vita, wouldn't you say?

Velocity Ultra Streaks Onto PlayStation Vita Next Week

There was a time when side-scrolling sci-fi shooters were all the rage. In fact, they were a major staple of the industry.

They came in both vertical and horizontal formats and they required fast reflexes and consistently rapt attention. …they gave me a headache, in truth. But if you've always been a big fan of such games, you gotta check out the new throwback from FuturLab.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Velocity Ultra for the PlayStation Vita will be ready to go next week; July 2, to be exact. After a brief delay, the game will emerge "bug-free and with a high-res coat of paint." It has already earned plenty of praise from critics, and it features PSN leaderboards, Trophies (including a Platinum), native artowrk, and "flawless 60FPS action." Lastly, it boats the same bad-ass soundtrack by Joris de Man and James Marsden.

This looks like the perfect game to take on the go. So much fun!
