Velocity Ultra Streaks Onto PlayStation Vita Next Week

There was a time when side-scrolling sci-fi shooters were all the rage. In fact, they were a major staple of the industry.

They came in both vertical and horizontal formats and they required fast reflexes and consistently rapt attention. …they gave me a headache, in truth. But if you've always been a big fan of such games, you gotta check out the new throwback from FuturLab.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , Velocity Ultra for the PlayStation Vita will be ready to go next week; July 2, to be exact. After a brief delay, the game will emerge "bug-free and with a high-res coat of paint." It has already earned plenty of praise from critics, and it features PSN leaderboards, Trophies (including a Platinum), native artowrk, and "flawless 60FPS action." Lastly, it boats the same bad-ass soundtrack by Joris de Man and James Marsden.

This looks like the perfect game to take on the go. So much fun!

We've had it here for a while now, it came free with Plus about a month ago. If you get a chance to play this game it's definitely worth your time and is a big improvement over the first game.
