Sackboy Celebrates The Spooky Season With New Free Skin

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

As the nights draw near and — for some — the temp drops, it seems Sackboy has a fun little gift for Sackboy: A Big Adventure owners. To give a bit of Halloween spirit to the title, fans can expect a spiffy and spooky new look for the game’s protagonist.

The new skin sees our hero donning a spooky makeover complete with a green complexion and ragged clothes. One thing that is certainly welcome, too, is that the new makeover is going to all players free of charge once it officially releases later this week.

The title has seen some pretty solid support over its lifetime, which is much needed following the cyberattack that led to past-gen LittleBigPlanet severs to shutter for good earlier this year.

Fans can get this new skin free of charge on October 29.

LittleBigPlanet Servers Shut Down On PS3 And Vita

LittleBigPlanet

It’s been no secret that Sony has been battling hacking within their LittleBigPlanet games for some time now. Servers being taken down for maintenance and extended downtime has been expected throughout all of this. Now, it has gotten to a point  point where the servers have been shut down permanently. The official Twitter for LittleBigPlanet had this to announce earlier:

This does not affect the servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 on the PS4. That being said, this only affects the online play for these games and not the story modes or DLC.

It’s a massive shame as the servers were shut down without warning. But, it looks like fans of the series will still have PS4 updates to look forward to.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure Online Multiplayer Is Now Available

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Sack up, everyone – Sackboy: A Big Adventure can now be played online with friends. Since launch, fans could enjoy the platformer with a buddy on the couch, but its online portion was delayed. Now, Sackboy’s developer, Sumo Digital, has announced you and your buds can enjoy the game together no matter what room you’re in.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure acted as a launch title for the PS5, releasing on November 12 and November 19 based on your region on both the current (PS4) and next-generation (PS5) consoles.

The game throws you into an adventure (dare we say a big adventure) and while you could complete the story on your own, it now allows you to play through the story with up to three buds online, as opposed to the single room approach available at launch. It isn’t just that, though, as 10 new multiplayer levels were added to commemorate this addition.

Oh and don’t worry, Sackboy: A Big Adventure supports cross-gen play, so you can still invite that bud that couldn’t coup a PS5.
