Ghostbusters Game Getting a Remaster Later This Year

Ghostbusters

Back in 2009, Ghostbusters: The Video Game was released, catching a decent sum of attention. Now, a decade later, it’s coming back in a remastered state. Its debut trailer was short, especially compared to Death Standing‘s release date trailer, but it also didn’t need to be that long either. It’s the first trailer, after all, no doubt there will be others.

This game is probably going to lose some of its luster as it acted kind of like a third entry to the series. But, with an actual Ghostbusters 3 coming out, it may lose that certain something that made it really stand out to gamers. Nevertheless, it’s happening and no doubt, fans are excited.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will be out on PS4, Xbox One, PC (via the Epic Games Store), and Switch, sometime in 2019.

New Ghostbusters Game Goes Digital In The Spring

You know, Ghostbusters: The Video Game was pretty good. It was quite entertaining and thanks to favorable reviews, it sold over 1 million copies.

So does this warrant a sequel? Well, yes and no. It warrants a follow-up title, but one that isn't a big-budget production. According to GameHunters at USA Today, Wanako is currently developing Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime , a downloadable installment for the PSN, XBLA and PC. It's a four-player adventure (both locally and online) where players strap on a proton pack and take down the invading spirits. Included are "gigantic bosses that require teamwork" and several different attacks, like the proton stream, plasma inductor and fermion shock. Unfortunately, none of the original actors are scheduled to be involved in the game but as consolation, we'll finally get to drive the Ecto-3. As you can see by the screenshot, this appears to be a top-down action game; this style has lent itself well to the downloadable realm, as Dead Nation and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light have excelled using that view.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime should be ready to go in the spring. Who's up for some digital ghost nabbing?
