Mad Max, TrackMania Turbo Headline PS Plus Games for April

Sony announced the upcoming PlayStation Plus games for April this morning, and while they’re not quite as enticing as March’s lineup, which featured celebrated titles such as Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank, there are a few diamonds in the rough that may be worth checking out on PS4, particularly Avalanche Stuidos’ 2015 vehicular brawler, Mad Max.

TrackMania Turbo, Ubisoft’s first entry in the series since 2009, and Q*bert Rebooted, round out the list of PS4 titles, while the PS3 and Vita selections once again show why Sony is moving to phase out these systems starting next year. Check out the full list below:

PS3 is Turning 10 Years Old, Celebrate with Some Game Sales

Apparently the PS3 is turning 10 years old in November. When the hell did that happen? Has it really been that long? The PS4 has taken the reigns and is a pretty amazing machine that has, in my opinion, overshadowed its predecessor. The PS3 was a really good system though (and still is) and it had some excellent games.

In celebration, the Playstation Store is having a sale on a bunch of PS3 games. Now is a good chance to play some awesome games from the PS3 era for cheap. If you still have your system hooked up that is.

I still have my PS3 hooked up and I do play it once in a blue moon. Although from what I’ve gathered there are a lot of people that don’t play on their PS3 these days. Just glance at the comments on the blog post and you will see quite a few people complaining about it.

I think it’s a nice sale though. There are quite a few games that are really good on this list. Especially if you missed the boat when these games came out. Either way there are some good deals so it might be a good time for some people to dust off the old PS3 and celebrate it turning 10 years old by buying some games. Fair warning though, I don’t know how long the sale will last.

I’ll include a full list below (borrowed from the blog post ) or you can go straight to the store and check it out there. Some highlights include Ractchet and Clank, God of War, Infamous, and Bioshock. There is actually quite a few games on sale here. Although I own most of the games I am interested in. I suppose there are few that I might think about getting sometime. Maybe.

What do you think? Are the prices worth it or not? Are you going to get any of these?

Nearly 30 Years Later, We Find Another Punch Out!! Easter Egg

Well-hidden Easter Eggs in video games can stay hidden for a very long time.

Many years after the original release, we're still learning all sorts of things about classic games, and that includes the NES game Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!

Even though it has been around for nearly three decades, Reddit user midwesternhousewives (bizarre handle for a gamer) has stumbled upon another little secret: Fans of the game knew you could take out Piston Honda and Bald Bull with one perfectly timed punch, but nobody knew the game was actually telling them when to do it. Maybe because we were all so fixated on the action.

There's this bearded dude in the stands who gives you a cue, so you know when to unleash your finishing punch; you can see it in the video below. Obviously, it's feasible that other people noticed this but it's the first we're seeing of it online…right? Pretty cool, either way.

Want A NES Plated In 24K Gold? Better Pony Up The Cash

Symbolically, the original Nintendo Entertainment System is golden.

But if you've got some relatively deep pockets and you want a console that's actually gold, we've got just the thing:

Hardware manufacturer Analogue has created a new version of its NES system, and this one is plated in 24-karat gold . The Analogue Nt 24K Gold console was made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda (gaming vets will probably remember that the first two Zelda games on NES had gold-colored cartridges). So, if you've got an extra $5,000 to spare, you can own one of these very limited – and awfully shiny – machines. We say very limited because in point of fact, Analogue is only making 10. Yep, 10.

To clarify, this is an aluminum console built with original NES hardware, and it can play both NES and Famicom games while outputting the video via HDMI. Here's everything you get for your $5K:

Of course, you could just opt for the regular Analogue Nt , which is 1/10th the price ($500). The only problem there is it appears they're sold out.

2016 World Video Game Hall Of Fame Finalists Announced

So, which of these timeless classics deserve to be enshrined?

The Strong National Museum of Play has announced the 15 finalists for this year's World Video Game Hall of Fame inductees.

As you can see below, the list includes legendary names like Final Fantasy , The Legend of Zelda , Sonic the Hedgehog , Tomb Raider and John Madden Football , with a few more recent titles also coming into play (get it?): Minecraft , Sid Meier's Civilization and Grand Theft Auto III . Check it out:

2016 World Video Game Hall of Fame Finalists

Said The Strong director Jon-Paul C. Dyson:

"These 15 World Video Game Hall of Fame finalists span decades, gaming platforms, and countries of origin–but what they all have in common is their undeniable impact on the world of gaming and popular culture. They're among the most influential games of all time."

The organization received "thousands of nominations" from people around the world, and an advisory committee comprised of journalists, scholars, and "other individuals familiar with the history of video games and their role in society" helped shrink the pool down to the 15 titles you see above.

In order to be considered, games had to "have enjoyed popularity over a sustained period and have exerted influence on the video game industry or on popular culture and society in general." The winners will be announced during a ceremony at the museum on May 5.

Last year, the first ever inductees into the World Video Game Hall of Fame were: Pong , Pac-Man , Doom , Super Mario Bros. , Tetris and World of Warcraft .

Capcom’s T-Virus Perfume Invites You To Smell Like A Zombie

Want to smell like the undead?

Sure you do. I mean, you do if you're a rabid Resident Evil fan and you love unique video game collectibles. And it would probably help if you're female.

According to RocketNews24 , Capcom is releasing a special T-Virus perfume, which will go on sale at the Capcom Cafe on March 26.

It will retail for only 4,200 yen (about $37.25), which is darn cheap for perfume, but the scent won't exactly remind you of Minerva's sweat droplets, either. Hell, even the description of the product warns users to exercise caution when using it, probably because the designers tried to "mimic the highly infectious and explosive dispersal characteristics of the fictional virus when crafting the scent." You can also pick up a deodorizing spray for 1,300 yen (approximately $11.50), which is based on the first-aid spray from the iconc games; this will go on sale on April 2.

Bear in mind that there will only be a limited number of these products, so you'd better strike quickly if you want 'em. Hardcore RE followers, this is for you!

Thanks, BikerSaint!
