Activision Is Getting Sued… Again… This Time Over Mara

Activision

Activision is once again getting sued over copyright infringement. This time, spearheading this suit is writer and photographer, Clayton Haugen, thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s Mara character.

Mara was introduced in 2019 as part of Modern Warfare’s first season. According to Potts Law Firm, which is backing Haugen, the character bears a striking resemblance to a 2017 concept art character he made named Cade Janus.

He alleges it wasn’t a mere coincidence and that Activision’s character was so similar to his. Not only had Activision used the same makeup artist as Haugen at the time, but also the same model, too.

This isn’t Potts Law Firm’s first time in this rodeo, they are also the ones who backed Booker T. Huffman in his case against Activision claiming Prophet from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 stole his G.I. Bro alter-ego.

Call Of Duty: Warzone Players Told To “Know Your History”

Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Warzone players are getting flashes of Activision telling them to “know your history.” The rumor mill has been running for quite a while about what the next COD game would be. It was rumored to be taking place during the Cold War and this certainly seems like they’re working on a history-centered entry. These flashes, though, isn’t the first piece of evidence that points to a reveal on the horizon.

Recently, COD partners have been receiving real-world packages from Activision with instructions not to open until Monday at 12 PM ET. This is clearly promo material for the next Call of Duty game and possibly a nod to when the reveal will happen.

Activision has yet to reveal the game itself, only that it’s in the works and will launch later this year.
