SwapQuest is Coming to PS Vita Next Week

German indie developer Rebusmind has announced that its puzzle RPG SwapQuest is coming to the PS Vita on February 23, 2016. A price for SwapQuest hasn't been given yet.  Previously released on mobile devices after two years of development, SwapQuest for PS Vita was in development for almost a year “to make it the most refined experience possible,”  Designer Constantin Graf has talked about SwapQuest.

"SwapQuest is a mix of a retro RPG with a tile-swapping puzzle game, inspired by classics like Pipe Mania. The idea behind it was to take many of the elements I loved as a child in console RPGs from the 90’s and blend them with a movement system more reminiscent of a puzzle game.

Out came SwapQuest on PS Vita, an easy-to-learn yet hard-to-master gaming experience that combines the development of your own character with puzzle levels that feel fresh every time due to their procedural nature. The game started small, but the concept took on a life of its own as more and more RPG elements found their way into the game."

The story takes you on a journey through the kingdom of Aventana, which is threatened by the Horde, an evil cloud of demons that has escaped its prison to wreak havoc across the land. You take on the role of either Prince Wilbert or Princess Wilma to search for a magical sword that is able to bring peace back to the world.

SwapQuest was a great mobile game when it came out on iOS and Android last year.  I might try this game if I can find time to play my PS Vita, as I still have many pending PS4 and PS3 games that are waiting for me to play.
