Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Reaches Over 5 Million Copies Sold

The sales milestones continue for the now indie studio Toys For Bob with their 2020 title Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.

According to Xbox Nerds, it’s been revealed by design director Toby Schadt on his LinkedIn account that ever since October 2, 2020 the latest mainline Crash installment has reached over 5 million copies sold. This sales milestone will hopefully be a sign that Crash Bandicoot still has a promising future beyond the early conclusion of Crash Team Rumble’s content updates (via VGC) last month. This is also despite Crash 4’s sales being roughly half compared to Spyro Reignited Trilogy’s milestone and Spyro 4 reportedly in early development. Not to mention, over three years after Crash Bandicoot 4’s launch, Microsoft now owns both Crash and Spyro following the Activision Blizzard purchase.

On a final note, Schadt’s LinkedIn account displaying Crash Bandicoot 4’s sales curiously lists an unannounced TFB project in progress since December 2023. Could this provide additional evidence for Spyro 4’s early development?

Crash Bandicoot 4 was originally released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One before receiving current gen console and PC ports in 2021.
