And after more than a few uploaded a whole lot of wallpapers, there appears to be one member who went above and beyond (even if a bug in the system prevented him from uploading more). The winner of this giveaway is kraygen , so congratulations and send me an e-mail with your address; I'll try to get the games out to you on Tuesday. As promised, kraygen will receive a new, sealed copy of Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy along with two secret games (JRPGs) that will remain secret to everyone but the winner. 😉
And in the spirit of giving, I've decided to extend an indefinite offer- I get a lot of stuff from publishers these days, and I usually don't want to keep all of it. Sometimes I sell it; sometimes I trade it in, and sometimes it just takes up space. So, I think the more active members could benefit from the influx of goodies: say you go and upload some wallpapers, toss up a user review or two, tell a friend about PSXE, etc. Then some time down the road, just drop me an e-mail and ask if I have anything to hand out. Just please be 18+ and reside in the US.
I can't promise I'll have anything, and I can't promise how often I'll have something to give away. But it's just a way of expressing our appreciation of the more active community members. 🙂
I'd like to add-
Please don't go and upload a ton of wallpapers and do a ton of user reviews, e-mail me, and get pissed when I don't have anything. I also can't guarantee regular retail copies; maybe it'll be a review copy, or something.
I just thought I could give a few things away to those who contribute to PSXE. Obviously, I'll have more during the busier times of the year.
I think a review copy would be more valuable really. It would be a cool item.
These giveaways kinda motivate me to become a more active member. I'll see what I can do to contribute to this site though I can't promise too much since school has been hectic lately.

As a long time gaming collector I've never even seen a review copy, so I'm really curious to know….
What is all the differences between a review copy & the retail game itself?
Is it just certain segments of the whole game or/and something else?

We've never not given away what we promised for a giveaway.
Maybe it wasn't an official thing, but it was something Arnold hosted in the forums some time back to give away some of his goodies. He then encountered financial difficulties that disallowed him from spending money on shipping things so a couple of us got left in the dust after choosing out stuff from his stash.
Not a huge deal, just kinda blah.

Imo, you should have more creative contests. Meaning that the submissions have to be creative. I didn't even bother submitting anything for this because it feels weird for me to profit simply by distributing someone else's work.
You could wait until you have a pile of stuff then ask people to submit original playstation-related drawings, wallpapers, themes, fan fiction, etc.
I think it will be much more enjoyable if people have to rely on skill instead of mass uploading to win prizes.
I do like the idea of giving things away to people who post reviews and whatnot, but i'd want it to have a bit more structure than spontaneously emailing the staff when i'm out of games to play.

That's a fine idea, except you forgot that the vast majority of people are nowhere near that creative.
We do something like that, we might get 10 really cool original wallpapers, themes, etc. We do a normal one, we get 10 times that many.
People just aren't willing to expend that much effort, we've learned.

I'm very glad it doesn't have to be original artwork. If you could see my drawing skills you'd be glad too.
Pretty sure there's not much demand for ps3 wallpapers in style of 3 year old stick figures and cave paintings. =)
Honestly I've seen 5 year old kids who draw better than me.
