DC Comics Titles Now For Your PSP

Your favorite comic book heroes are now just a click away, and you can even take them with you wherever you may roam.

Today, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced the availability of various DC Comics titles on the PlayStation Network. Compatible with the PSP, this collection initially boasts more than 80 titles, ranging in price from $0.99 to $2.99 per issue, including Batman: Hush, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Fables: Legends in Exiles, and Planetary: All Over the World and Other Stories. You can even sample some comics that are exclusive to the PSN, like God of War, Resistance, Free Realms, etc. Oh, and don't forget, Superman fans: they're offering you a free 10-page sneak peek of the 700th issue of Superman via the PSN digital comics service. DC Comics is the largest English-language comic book publisher in the world; it all began with Superman back in 1938 and now, they put out nearly 1,000 issues per year.

Said Susan Panico, senior director of the PlayStation Network, SCEA:

"PlayStation Network digital comics has been incredibly popular since its release last year, and we're excited to have some of the comic book world's most iconic characters from DC Comics among them. As we remain dedicated to providing users with the most comprehensive entertainment experience, we're excited to be working with DC Comics to expand our growing library of comics and further solidify PlayStation Network as the premier entertainment destination."

Digital comics have been available on the Network since December of last year, and they can be viewed on every PSP model, including the PSP Go. As of now, all users can access over 1,600 classic and new comics and with Autoflow, readers can go through issues frame by frame, zooming in and out as they so desire. All you need is the latest firmware update (6.20) and hit the "Digital Comics" icon under the "Extras" column on the PSP's XMB menu, and you're good to go.

The comic service must be doing some decent numbers, I remember reading somewhere that DC would wait to see what kindof profits it'd bring in first.

As a user of the service, this is phenomonal news, there's even a new version of the reader out now too.

Good!
I want more and more comic exposure and outlets to access them.
Outside of my programming education I've always had a childhood interest in working for a big comic company like DC as an penciller.

I'm glad to hear that the psp comics are getting so much attention. However Dc comics are actually the second biggest english-language comics publisher. Marvel is the biggest, they publish almost 50% of them, while DC is only about 30%.
