"Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolly, lolly lolly, lollipop, lollipop…" …yeah, good luck getting that out of your head now .
Suda51 is a wacko. That dude is just plain loopy. And we love his loopiness. From the "twisted mind" (the trailer's words, not ours) that helped bring you Shadows of the Damned comes Lollipop Chainsaw . A sweet 'n sexy cheerleader grabs a big ass chainsaw, blurts out a couple ridiculous one-liners, and tears the invading undead a new one.
Prepare yourself.
I have no idea if this game is going to be any good. I have a lot of faith in the developers and writer/director James Gunn but who knows? However, I have to say, I always think I've seen it all when it comes to video games, and then something like this comes along and puts a smile on my face. Why? Not sure. Just because it's unabashed and over-the-top, I guess.
"Sex, Blood & Rock 'n Roll." Yeah, okay. Bring it.

Alice is my type of girl. pale, long black hair and green eyes, aww..
But no dude she wasn't sexualised on that game like..well Bayonetta.

No no she was not a Bayonetta by all means, she's not vulgar but c'mon Ben, she still was one hot lady?
Ok I gotta be careful with what I say here cause I still don't have the game so all I base this on is the small sized video clips, but from what I was able to tell she was mighty cute with those short skirts and long stockings?
She is sexy more in a BioShock-Elizabeth kind of way but, well, Elizabeth *is* both sexy and cute. I accept no other description of that dame.

you're going to use a metacritic score? I'm not saying I don't trust reviews, I certainly use them but something that broad is absolutely ridiculous.

It's more ridiculous to trust an average of multiple reviews across the web than trusting individual reviews – of whom the metascores are based on? Well, alright then… 😀
Seriously though, in my experience the metascore is the most *generally* reliable source of a rating there is. That's just my experience. It's not without exceptions, not without flaws, but as a guideline? Sure. I put more trust in a score based on say 50 reviews than I put in one single review – especially if that review differ a lot from the average.
Ergo, I tend to agree with the majority of the reviewers. That's me. 🙂

Don't worry. In no way is Alice presented as a sex object. She's just a dark disturbed girl. 🙂
Hmph. She's sexy in my mind. Not sexualized like this Lollipop gal, but sexy still. Yes she is.
So there.
😉

I LOVE Alice: MR, great game in almost every way. Her clothes only sexualize her if you, like me, like a gothic look on insane woman. Her skirts are quite long.
The scores for it are pretty fair, but they deal with some technical issues that are easy to overlook when you are just in it and enjoying the gameplay/story.

Ah thank you World, that was actually a relief. It got me worried that I seemed to be the only one thinking she's hot. I was like,
"Ah shit, am I missing something here… Is there something about that game that makes it very, very wrong to find her sexy?" 😀
Insanity is good. At least in games, just look at what it did to BioShock. 🙂

kinda reminds me of madworld.
oh how i wish sega would bring that over to the ps3 like they did house of the dead!
might give this a try have to see more details on it first.
just hope its the first suda game thats not one level cut and pasted 10 times!
no more heroes and shadows of the damned have to be 2 of the most repetitive cut and paste games ive ever played!
he might have a wacky style, but said wacky style stops being so wacky when you have had to put up with it for 8 hours!
a little variety would be nice!!!!!!!!
@ world, yeah, stand being made as a 2 movie deal. Currently the writer and director of the last 4 harry potter films are lined up. gotta be better than the naff tv mini-series, weirdly just finished re-reading the stand last night 🙂
This game looks awesome ! suda 51 is my new idol, buffy meets bayonetta, whats not to love 🙂
I don't know what happened to me. I remember back when I came across Tomb Raider in summer 1998 in London HMV Oxford mega-store, I didn't like the idea at all. I said to myself "How could possibly my hero be a girl…a female? I don't accept it!" Nowadays I'm all for any game whose protagonist is a female, like ironically Tomb Raider 2012! Or whose the story evolves around a female like Catherine. To the extent that I mostly choose either Elena or Chloe when I play Uncharted multiplayer!
I think Lollipop Chainsaw won't be an exception! And lads, please don't misunderstand me. I've started to like female protagonist because I find it fun…and sexy 😀
At the end I'm a guy whose main heroes are Kratos, Nathan Drake and Solid Snake.

I've switched sides too, with make-your-own character RPGs I tend to make women instead.
Ah yeah I switched side a long time ago, that happened with my first make-your-own-character rpg. Male heroes are just so… dull compared to a heroine. They simply are cooler. Plus they make me feel like a true geek, and I like that. 😀

Based on that trailer, this game will either be a big hit or total flop.
I can't see it going any other way.
Hehe – agreed. And I fear the worst.
Nothing to fear it will just a game after all.

Beamboom –
I don't know. It has the potential to be a cult classic. At least I get that vibe.
Yeah, that potential is there. True.
It's just suspicious that we still only get to see very little real gameplay here – just snippets of action sequences mixed in a very "mtv music video" kind of way. I dunno… Makes me think they try to disguise something here.
That's what makes me real scared. I FEAR it, Dixxie.

It's just an ad. More and more games are doing this to get the public's attention; they release something stylish first. It's basically what movies have always done.
But you're right that we have to see the game in action. Until then, it's just hope.
It's a 2012 game, so they are probably still hard at work on getting everything fully presentable. Snippets of gameplay are typical for trailers coming out this early.
This is bayonetta all over again, sigh.
Bayonetta on the 360 is one of the top 5 games on that system.
Sucks that the Ps3 got the ugly version, but after the patch very playable, I really recommend to give it a chance.
I don't think it will be Bayo-like. Suda's over the top is different from Platinum's.
I love these creative games that come out every now and then. This one is on my radar for a day one purchase.
Pre-order for me. We need more quirky games like this. Suda51 is the man.
I had to sell Shadows, but I appreciated the effort. This looks more up my alley, though the one-liners are probably gonna be a mixed bag. I'd like to travel with Suda and update him on effective American slang. Shadows did have me laughing quite a bit, but there was more than a few eye-rolls and flops in there too.
Sometimes I think Japanese one-liners are crazy cheesy for the sake of cheese.
…but other times, I just think they're a little behind. 😉
Man i m always late in here maybe it s time i stop waiting for my e-mail before checking psxextreme .
Anyway , it s probably not a day one purchase for me but i ll definitely pick it up when it go down in price a little .
Anything that resemble the insanity of Illbleed ( can t have more over the top then this ) for the Dreamcast is worth a buy for me .
Now , if only they could make a game based on the movie Tokyo gore police .

I be getting this game and it looks totally epic
