Today, Activision has announced the details of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened and Prestige Editions. Both are now available for pre-order if you feel like shelling out the extra cash: that fancy Prestige Edition will actually boast "an entirely original remote controlled surveillance vehicle inspired by the RC-XD from Black Ops Multiplayer." You caught a glimpse of it in the recent multiplayer trailer , remember? When you bring it home, you'll find it has a range of 200 feet and even includes a "fully-functioning remote camera that transmits both TFT color video and audio to its operator." …okay, say what you want, but this is freakin' cool . And of course, the Prestige package will also include what's available in the Hardened Edition: a custom Black Ops limited edition medal, exclusive Black Ops avatar outfit, and four playable cooperative maps. Both special bundles will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when the game launches on November 9; just remember, if you want that surveillance car, you'll need to go for the $149.99 Prestige Edition.
Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 's Prestige Edition included a set of fully functional night-vision goggles for the same price. We like the car more.

I used to like remote control cars when I was growing up. I doubt the wife would want it in the house. Actually, I'm pretty sure she'd just be pissed that I would spend $150 on that. Also, I doubt I'm going to take part in the upcoming CoD trilogy…
I can see a lot of teenage hormones, getting a lot of teenagers, into a lot of trouble, with a remote control camera that can look up girls skirts… I mean what other function will a teenager have with a remote control spy camera? Ok ok, I'm sure there's plenty of functions they will use it for, other than perving.
Of course now I can see sales going through the roof for this now.

The 4 playable Co-op maps from what i think are 4 maps that you get before anyone else… Why would they give only the hardened/prestige guys something that only that small demographic could use? Like Cod Classic, it will reach the other consumers eventually.
As for preordering, i deffinetly would… at my midnight launch of MW2, i had preordered mw2, and when I went to pick it up, i wanted to upgrade to prestige, but they were sold out, and apparently only ordered enough to cover the preorders… If you wait 24 hours, and someone doesn't pick it up, then you can prolly pick their copy up, but the odds are slim to zer0… So i'd preorder the prestige, but put the minimum 5 dollars on it. Until November 8th you can always change the preorder to basic/hardened……

You either have to pre-order, or you'll be sh!t out of luck trying to find any not already pre-ordered.
Just be cause these will be snatched up in no time by the collectors, re-sellers, the rabid COD fans, and all the other FPS twitch crowds.
Unless you're willing to pay a giant mark-up on ebay later on.
I think the nightvision from MW2 is still better.

Or if the car explodes like it does in the multiplayer then it might be useful for you. Of course, that's probably not the most skillful way of dealing with the problem.

@Harmony, you have any call of duty black ops prestige editions for cheap?
As good as it sounds after more than likely paying for new map packs when they get released I'll stick to the normal priced version thanks. So far MW2 has cost me £62+
Sure it sounds cool, but I'm not buying into it. From what I heard the night vision goggles sucked. That's how most of these uber expensive editions are.
It looks great in the picture they release because it's a prototype made of high quality materials, then you get it and its cheap plastic crap that will fall apart if you so much as touch it.
I highly doubt this car will be anywhere near as impressive as they will try to make it sound.

the RC is a neat bonus, but does it explode upon impact? NO. i will not buy the prestige edition for THAT exact reason!
The sad thing is this RC car will be a piece of crap at that price. There is no way that this thing is any good. You'd be hard pressed to find a decent RC car at $150, let alone be included in a set with a game for $150.
yeah even an average rc at wall mart costs around 40-50 bucks and they don't have any camera's on them.

everything in the signiature edition (besides the car obviously) is dirt cheap to make.

but you're forgetting one thing, black ops is a piece of crap game compared to gran turismo 5. activision is giving you a relatively piece of crap game and adds in a cheap ass rc car to fool idiots to buy their game while sony gives you an amazing game while giving the fans quality add ons. someones falling for activisions ploy, hmmmm…. disappointing.
