The sequel is shaping up to be much more popular than the original.
According to a new MCV report , Dark Souls II pre-orders in the UK are currently 50 percent higher than its predecessor.
We're not sure if the anticipated sequel is enjoying a similar upswing here in North America, but it's possible. The success of Dark Souls put the sequel into the limelight, and Namco Bandai hasn't been shy about talking. The first title (which was the spiritual successor to the acclaimed Demon's Souls ) sold 2.3 million sales worldwide, and the publisher is obviously hoping for an even better performance from the sequel.
Advertising will be significant as well, especially in the UK, where Namco is investing another £1m into marketing and promotion. Again, you can probably expect the same thing here, as gamers everywhere now know the Dark Souls name. Dark Souls II is scheduled to launch on March 11 in the US for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and three days later in the UK.

The days are being numbered on my part. Waiting for the collector's edition to hit the Amazon Locker across from work. No way in hell I'm missing this delivery.

I've been on the bandwagon since Day 1 of Demon's Souls first Jap trailer that I saw. I'll be the proud owner of all 3, Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition, Dark Souls Collectors Edition AND now the Dark Souls 2 Collectors Edition. Demon's Souls especially having limited quantities of Deluxe since sales weren't expected to be anything great 😀 Wonder how much all 3 would be worth if combined on Ebay or something XD
Awesome glad its getting recognition. This will only lead to sequels but also with major improvements. Come on 11th get here faster!
I am counting down the days. It has been sometime since I wanted a game this bad.
