Gran Turismo 6 has lots of cars. But the acclaimed driving simulator just got one more.
During this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Polyphony Digital Inc. and Toyota officially unveiled the Toyota FT-1 Concept Coupe. And as announced over at the PlayStation Blog , GT6 players will be the first to test-drive it.
Thanks to a free online update, the FT-1 is now available to try out. You can drive it in a special seasonal event and if you receive a bronze or better in the challenge at Laguna Seca, you'll get the car. Having this bad boy in your garage will probably feel pretty good, huh? However, if you'd rather not participate in the challenge, you can always purchase the car from the in-game Toyota dealership. It was Calty Design Research who came to Polyphony and asked the developers to put their new FT-1 creation into the latest GT installment.
Said Calty Design president Kevin Hunter:
"Thanks to the amazing capability of the Gran Turismo game engine, gamers can enjoy a very real simulation piloting the ultra-high performance FT-1 on the tracks it was designed to master."

We've got the BMW M4, Vision AMG GT, Adretti Hudson, and now the Toyota FT-1. It's only the second month, and all have been free, and lots more will come in not just content, but features. It's good to be a GT fan right now.
PD's relationship with automanufacturers is unmatched, and I love it. GT gets endorsed, and we as players get to drive them before anybody else, for free. At the press conference, Toyota were giving away free GT6 copies to the press lol.
I look forward to trying this, another great free update.
I recall reading something on MSN suggesting this is the replacement for the Supra?
