The last entry I played – Yakuza 4 – was really good. The franchise as a whole is really good .
So, wouldn't you be excited to hear about a new installment, possibly in development for the PlayStation 4? For now, we can only assume it's headed to the PS3 but there's no way of knowing, because details are scarce for the time being.
We just know that Sega has revealed Yakuza Restoration (via Siliconera ) and it features a character named Ryoma Sakamoto. That's who you're seeing in this early picture; it isn't former protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. We'll learn more about Restoration later this week when it will be detailed in Famitsu, but until then, we'll just ahve to speculate. We have to hope that it will make its way to other territories besides Japan; in the past, we've typically had to wait at least a year after the Japanese launch. Patience, patience…
Semi-open-world brawlers FTW!
I really dug Yak 4 too, I'd die if this franchise had the quality of GTA behind it.
When I read "Restoration" I thought it meant we'd get the HD remaster here. Strange name.
Rockstar is now using concepts from the Yakuza Series.
I remember I preferred the world of Yakuza over GTA much of the time. Sure the world in Yakuza was quite small…and you had limited freedom – in that you couldn't just kill everyone around you (lol)…but it felt more of a living breathing world with its spontaneous events and all.
I'm guessing it was primarily borrowed from Shenmue – but hey it was just awesome.
Well Yakuza Kenzan was the First Yakuza PS3 Game so ,
Yakuza Ishin might be the First PS4 Yakuza.
But Yakuza Kenzan had the writer who wrote the PS2 Yakuza's,let's see if Ishin turns out as good as Kenzan.
Yakuza 5 was great
Semi Open World's are more alive then FUll Open Worlds

Did you import or are you in Japan?
Am I a bad gamer if I´ve never played any of Yakuza? I´ve heard great things of the franchise and seriously want to play it, but just don´t have time. Oh well, my back log is increasing with every second I live.
no, just a little behind on the Japanese games that haven't gone down the toilet by becoming western.
Good to know it's a Japanese franchise stuck to it's roots. That's the reason Yakuza has now climbed quite some steps up in my back-log.
With Sega making exclusives games for Nintendo's consoles and Yakuza's being ported over to Nintendo's home console, I don't know if the next Yakuza will be exclusive to PlayStation or even release on PS.
How did I get thumbs down? LMAO the pathetic corporate slaves strike again.
a ps4 yakuza game?
a game releasing in 2014 at earliest?
so you mean the franchise is FINALLY entering the 19th century, and will be getting rid of those goddamn text boxes every 2 seconds!?
FINALLY!
actually really enjoyed 3, apart from the boring go into town and look for the spoiled brat babysitting missions!
and the god dam text boxes making me feel like im reading the encyclopedia britannica in its entirety 10 times over!
the world needs to play Yakuza 5,it will get rid of your very big text boxes reading problem.
cant understand why they have some dialogue cutscenes, and some in text boxes it just pulls you out of the experience as well.
one thing ive always hated about zelda as well, the story would be allot more interesting and compelling if the characters could actually talk!
