Final Fantasy X HD To Also Include Final Fantasy X-2 HD?

Until Square Enix finally stands up and says something, this information remains a rumor.

But it certainly seems plausible. According to Gematsu citing FF-Reunion, the upcoming remaster (no, it's not a remake) of Final Fantasy X will actually come bundled with another remastered game…

Final Fantasy VII !!! Okay, sorry to do that to you. Nah, it's Final Fantasy X-2 , which makes more sense, anyway. The two remastered versions will apparently be packaged on the same retail disc, but a new scan from Japanese publication Shonen Jump says the titles will be available as separate downloads on the PlayStation Vita. The source also claims that each game will have its own International edition content and the release is slated for some time this year.

Final Fantasy X HD was announced back in 2011, after which, Square Enix went mute for nearly two years. It popped up again last month, when producer Shinji Hashimoto showed off the game running on Sony's new portable. Yeah, well, no chance I'm playing this on the freakin' Vita. Final Fantasy has always been meant for the big screen, as far as I'm concerned.

Final Fantasy X has been one of the best games ever. Playing in HD will definitely bring back sweet memories. It is like watching a movie you love so much on VHS decades ago then watching in Blu-ray. The experience is totally worth it.

I cannot wait for these. Assuming the X-2 inclusion is correct, there will be a tremendous amount of content with this overall purchase. I'm so very excited to see this finally release.

I'm also just picking this up for PS3.

Sweet! If this is the case, I'm even more excited about getting this. Can't wait to replay these games!

Originally, I was going to skip this, since I'm probably close to 1000 hours on it and have really started to feel burnt out on the game. But I never actually got around to playing X-2, so if it's included I may pick it up afterall.

Ben, you mention that the Vita will be getting separate downloads for these. Should we assume that the same will be true for the PS3 versions?

I hope that's true, I'd like to play them both in lovely HD back to back. X-2 may have been a bit silly but it still did a lot more right than current FFs.

Isn't is sad how long it takes them just to remaster an old title?

I cannot stand X-2… It was just one massive diversion in story and it completely soiled one of my favourite Final Fantasy characters, Yuna. Rant' aside the more interesting thing about this news is apparently they'll be releasing it with the 'Last Mission' content we never got, which I think continues the story a bit more or is like a battle arena, curious nevertheless.

Most of the game was a diversion. Almost entirely side missions. The core stayed true, and yuna remained awesome. If anytging she got more awesome. Less helpless and hotter too.

But that could just be me never being into needy women. I like them confident, capable, and loyal. Heck, she was loyal to a guy that at that point doesnt even exist. Theres a strong and sexy woman who will stick with you to the end!.

Oh yeah, and if you select skip cutscenes, she gets changed in a hurry. How many women have complete wardrobe changes in the middle of something important and -still- finish the job?!

Wait, so that new vita rumor is official? We're going to see a new Vita model soon?

I believe it is confirmed, yes Daus. Didn't it happen on that event? Or at least it was leaked beyond confirmation.

I'd add that I simply hope this game has some cross buy/play functionality. I most definitely agree, games as epic as the classic FFs are best on the big screen, but it sure would be great to level grind on the road, in bed, when the GF is watching cooking shows, etc. and then take that progress back to my main gaming hub later:)

I'm looking forward to this remastered Final Fantasy. If they add X-2, I hope it doesn't take another two years to complete.

If you're from the states like me, we never got the international version of ff10. If this is true, i'll be playing the full version of this game for the first time .

I know right? The only SE games that I enjoye was Star Ocean: The Last Hope and if I'm correct, SE only published it. Tri-Ace actually made the game.
