Rumor: FFX/X-2 HD Remaster Lands On PS4 In Spring 2015

Let's say you're a big Final Fantasy fan but you ditched your PS3 when the PS4 launched. And you've got no interest in the Vita.

That means you wouldn't have been able to play the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster , which launched earlier this year. Tragic, huh?

PSXE Poll Update: FFX/X-2 HD Remaster Is Still Amazing

It's great for the loyal, long-time fans. But does it hold up when compared to modern video game productions?

Obviously, in some ways, it doesn't. But for the most part, the PSXE community agrees that the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster holds up remarkably well; i.e., it aces the ever-important "test of time.

In our review , we said the game still feels quite fresh, just because we don't see the turn-based mechanic in big-budget games these days. The pacing also feels more ponderous and unique. However, the technical elements and especially the voice acting feel dated, and FFX can feel a tad claustrophobic at times. It really just depends on what you enjoy, and whether or not you will always love a certain style of role-playing.

This week, after all the negative press surrounding Watch Dogs , we wonder if you're at all concerned. That leaked gameplay footage hasn't been confirmed, and Ubisoft insists that the game will still look plenty "next-gen." But are you buying that?

PSXE Poll Update: VR Gaming Generates Definite Intrigue

After Facebook purchased Oculus VR for $2 billion last week, the future of virtual reality gaming came into the limelight.

We wanted to know what you thought about VR in the interactive entertainment industry, and according to our latest poll, the vast majority at least think it's "cool."

In fact, most say they can't wait to check it out. Sony's next-gen VR tech, dubbed "Project Morpheus," is in the works right now, and it might be out sooner than we all think. One of the first games to take advantage of that amazing new tech is Project Cars , although I find it interesting that Evolution Studios couldn't make it work well enough in the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive, Driveclub .

At any rate, it'll be interesting to see how it all turns out. This week, we reflect on a recent article and determine that it's worthy of a poll: How do the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remasters hold up over time? Are they obviously dated? Or do their charms still shine brightly, despite a few dated elements (such as the voice acting)?
