Three new PS3 models are scheduled to arrive in October but evidently, that's not all.
As spotted by PSNStores , there's something interesting included in the new PS3 model press release, shown at the Australian PlayStation site:
" To tie in with the launch, PlayStation Store for PS3 is set to get a new look from October 2012 too, making it even easier for you to find and download the content you love from the comfort of your sofa. "
So that implies we'll get a new-look Store in October as well, and the source throws out the words, "web front store," too. There's nothing official on this just yet, but if true, the announcement probably isn't too far off, as we've only got a couple weeks left to go in September. Also, don't forget that PlayStation Mobile launches on October 3, and PlayStation Plus is coming to the Vita in November . So yeah, big autumn for Sony.
The 250gb is due tuesday, Sep25th.
Awesome. It's about time PSN got a more accessible store. It's sort of gotten convoluted.
I absolutely agree. Back during it's first makeover it was a nice upgrade, but since then so many new features and programs have been put into place. I feel it's pretty much a mess now. I keep having to remind myself that in order to find PsOne and PS2 classics I have to first go into PS3 games.
One hopes that they use a style more suited to an online retailer. Better categorization and searching would be nice.
I am with you on that one Highlander, its gotten to convoluted as others have eluded to here in…
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
Hope they also made your download history easier to navigate also
yeah, what a mess
Ah yeah that's true. It's a nightmare.
What, you don't like scrolling through a chronological list of 100's or 1,000's of downloads to find something you downloaded 3 years ago? /jk
I live in constant fear that my HDD would crash and I'd have to redownload anything using that list…
Amen to that, just a little bit of categorization would be nice, such a minor thing, but so useful.
@thedaini, it's worse than that. You have to individually select and download each item, remembering that small ones won't background download and so you have to wait for the activation sequence as well. Good grief a way of sorting the items by date/game/category and check boxes to highlight items to download are all that is needed to take that terrible functionality and elevate it to useful.
Yeah, I agree.
I have well over 600 transactions, so I wish I could have the ability to delete all the extra demos & trailers chafe, so I could get to the real meat & potato's of games and add-on's that I've bought.
mmmh, is the meat steak? =p
Yup, all beef prime fillet, YUM(at least to me, LOL).
Just to name a few off the top of my head….
all the Borderlands DLC,
Escape Plan, Motorstorm RC,
Festival of Blood,
From Dust,
Dead Nation,
Crysis 1,
Mercury Hg,
Urbanix
Rochard
Awesome. 😀
I'm happy with the current store's layout. I would only add a search box to find what I want quicker.
you're all set then as there is already a search option.
For a second, you made me doubt. I just checked the store again and there is no search box in my region's PSN store. 🙁
It sucks that Sony doesn't offer the same service across it's regions.
And make the browser better.
This a long time coming. I'm usually pleased with how Sony displays information (XMB) but the store has always been an eye sore and a mess.
I love the UI in PS store, although I agree that the colors need to be toned down a bit.
Just an FYI…
Actually, you can test out the new store beta right now.
Just go into the PS3's web browser & click on the new beta showing over on the right.
BTW, I've only played around with it for a few moments so far, but it seems more streamlined & simplified, with all the menu buttons now at the top edge & you just click on to whereever you want to go.
So far the menu buttons are…
Home,
Games,
Plus,
Movies,
YouTube,
Facebook & Twitter,
Playstation Network,
Accessories,
and the PS Blog.
When you open up the Facebook/Twitter button, it looks like you get both at once, FFB on the left side of the screen, & Twitter on the right, but I imagine that you can also get to either one or the other from there too.
BTW, there's also a quick 4-question survey from Sony that's asking what you think of their new web browser portal too.
