Gamers will have to wait before entering the iconic "Aliens" atmosphere one more time.
Gearbox Software has announced that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been delayed until February 12, 2013, when it will finally launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A date for the Wii U version is forthcoming.
Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford didn't go into details concerning the delay, but he did offer a new trailer (see it below) at the Gearboxity blog . He did say the game must feel "authentic" and when the game was first unveiled back in 2008, the team had only just finished prototypes. Basically, Pitchford equates the development cycle to that of Borderlands , so that isn't too bad.
Colonial Marines has been pushed back a couple of times but provided we get a quality product, we understand. Gearbox is set to launch Borderlands 2 on September 18.

Meh…
If you're going to make a game using the Alien franchise as a blueprint make it a claustrophobic survival horror. Aliens gave us the great arcade game and that's about it.
This flop is going to be so huge.
This makes me sad, I was looking forward to this after Bioshock was delayed.
How long has this been in development for now? Seriously it must be over 5 years now… It's a FPS I would like to try out if well executed but these delays only set doubt.
