No logo stays the same forever. Design and color changes are inevitable in the long run.
And if you haven't noticed, the recent PlayStation ads have been saturated with lots of pretty blue; a solid blue background is typically found behind the standard white lettering of the PlayStation logo. Some thought it was only related to the PlayStation Vita, but Sony Computer Entertainment Europe blog manager James Gallagher has revealed that it's more of a general update.
"It’s not directly PS Vita related, more of a change in branding direction for the company as a whole. These colours are going to be synonymous with PlayStation going forward."
The Euro blog now reflects the change, and you might see the same thing happen at the North American blog, too. Well, I've got no problem with blue; remember that the original PlayStation 3 box was bright blue (still are, aren't they?). I remember it well because I had to walk across a big parking lot with that thing at 10 a.m. on launch day, with visions of stabbings dancing before my eyes…
I wasn't a likely mark, though. There was some solace in that. 😉
I was just getting used to seeing the red backgrounds. Meh, Blue's my favorite color anyway.
Mine too.
hey, they should do a marketing thing with blue M&Ms (shrugs)
definetly, m&m on one side PS logo on the other
playaplus,
Those M&M's are a good idea.
M&M's actually have a program where you can order M&M's in any colors & with your own lil message on them. And those special M&M's go over like gang-busters on special holidays like Valentines day
Sony could pass out blue bags of blue M&M's with white lettering at E3 & other shows, for any game they're releasing, the PS3, Move, Vita, and any other specials they're doing.
And if they did, I'd love to have a couple bags from each event just for my gaming collection.
Guess it'll be good 2 have a blue Christmas for once.

being blue has never been better…would so say that in a commercial
I don't mind it, I mean the older ps2 models did come in blueboxes.
It's burning my retina.
That can't be good.
I don't DIS-like it… Besides. What's new with the color anyway? Blue was the color of the original PS2 boxes. So it's been around for a while. Why they bringing it up now?
the ps2 box was blue at some point too. i remember buying a blue box that said ps2 in grey i believe.
i love blue, but the blog, well, its a little TOO blue!
ah as the saying goes, im blue if i was green i would die.
hey, blue……. that explains allot!
😉
I have no problem with it, as long a it does not go back to that ugly spiderman font they had for the early days of the PS3, hideous!
but the phat PS3's r better looking.
"You're my boy, Blue!"
This makes sense I suppose. The PS2's box was blue, but the box that my original PS3 60 gb came in was black and white for the most part. It came with a free Spider Man 3 movie. BEST console ever made imo. It's like having 3 consoles in one. The SD card reader in the front really comes in handy plus it has 4 USB ports built in. I even like its design better becuase it's so shiny. The chrome is a nice touch as well.
Anyways, I always liked the original PS logo. The same one that shows up during the PS1's start up.
Anything is better than that hideous shade of green that the Xbox brand uses. I have come to despise that color. It's not even a friendly shade of green. Even the boxes that 360 games come in are ugly becuase they have that nasty green on them.

I'm pretty sure Ben meant the PS2 box.
I agree 100% about 360 game boxes; even worse than the red PS3 GH ones.

i don't like it. its so blah and unimaginative.
No issues with it..used to seeing blue associated with the PS anyway via commercial and etc.
BTW fellas Blue is the color for prostate cancer. Sport it this month and make others aware.

Blue has always been my favorite color!!!
If only the lights in the controllers were blue!
Hmmmm….
So instead of just having a "Blue Monday, we'll also be getting a "Blue Tuesday" now too????
OMG, I think that means we'll all be much happier about Tuesdays now, LOL
I am still and will always be partial to the U R not (red E) advertising from back in the day.
Sidenote, just watched Bad Teacher (ho hum C+ at best) last night, and holy crap was I surprised to see Sony's own Kevin Butler in it. Minimal role, but still very Bulteresque. Also the chubby guy from ABC's Modern Family was in it too. Different seeing him in a straight role.

blue m&m + Kevin Butler = Epic 😉
As long as it is not same color as the xbox failure screen, everything should work out well
