The Sims 2 Ships To Retail

EA has announced the The Sims 2 has shipped to retailers today and will be available in stores this week. The game is available for the PS2, Xbox, GCN, GBA, and Nintendo DS. A PSP version of the game will be out in a few weeks, but no exact date has been given.

“Now that The Sims 2 is everywhere, on every platform from consoles and handheld game systems, to PCs and mobile phones, one of the most widely-popular games in history is also one of the most widely accessible!” said the very excited Vice President and Executive Producer, Sinjin Bain, “EA is thrilled to bring your favorite game to all your favorite systems!”

As usual, you'll be able to create Sims, give them distinct personalities, design their fashions, create their food, and decorate their homes. The console and handheld versions have been re-invented from the ground-up hopefully making the transition from PC gameplay to console gameplay as smooth as possible. For example, the PS2 version of the game will allow you to import images into the game with the Eyetoy.

We should have a review of the game in a few weeks, so check back soon to see if it's worth your cash.
