Gaming Scholarship Winners Announced

GameCamp! has revealed the two winners of a full scholarship to the GameCamp! summer camp for students interested in video game development careers. High school and middle school students from around the U.S. were invited to write an essay about "Why I want to work in the video game industry."

The national winner is Scott Almquist, 17 years old, from El Dorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The regional winner is Kathryn Pendleton, 15 years old from the Duchesne Academy in Houston, Texas.

Both students will receive an all-expenses paid scholarship to the 2-week GameCamp! program, including tuition, room and board, and educational materials for the intensive summer camp being held from July 10th to July 24th at Texas State University, San Marcos, just south of Austin. Students at GameCamp! will participate in a project and seminar-oriented curriculum taught by experienced game industry designers, artists, programmers and other game developers.
