Take-Two Gets the MLBPA

The Major League Baseball Players Association today announced that it has reached an agreement in principle to grant sweeping rights to Take-Two Interactive to "develop and publish a broad portfolio of products that are expected to drive the baseball video game business to unprecedented heights."

Take-Two has also purchased Visual Concepts, who are the developers of Sega's sports series, for $24 million dollars, according to Gamespot.

What does this all mean to the consumer? It means Visual Concepts is still around, making games, and they will soon be the only baseball game in town. Can new NBA and NHL (assuming it still exists) deals be far behind?
