Capcom Ships Onimusha 3 Demon Siege

Capcom of America today announced Onimusha 3 Demon Siege has shipped to North American retailers. Onimusha 3 Demon Siege is the third title in the Onimusha series and the conclusion to the Nobunaga trilogy, Nobunaga being the main villain of the series. With the return of Samanosuke Akechi (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and the introduction of Jacques Blanc (Jean Reno), the title utilizes a 'dual hero system' similar to that of Resident Evil 2. At certain points, players can take advantage of the characters different locations in order to solve puzzles and get around obstacles.

Unlike the other two Onimusha titles, Onimusha 3 uses polygonal environments in lieu of pre-rendered backgrounds. The environments range from Anshi Castle and Sakai town of feudal Japan to Notre Dame and the Arc de Triumph of Paris, with each location "painstakingly recreated with such rich detail that it exceeds the scale of the previous incarnations of the series."

“Onimusha 3 Demon Siege will surpass its predecessors in all areas: gameplay, art, cinematics and technology to become the ultimate installment to complete this epic trilogy,” said Todd Thorson, director of marketing, Capcom USA. “Onimusha: Warlords and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny set an unprecedented standard for the PlayStation 2. The team behind Onimusha 3 Demon Siege realized those standards and has stepped forward to surpass them. By evolving the technology to create highly detailed 3D environments and enlisting the talents of Jean Reno and martial arts choreographer Donnie Yen, Onimusha 3 Demon Siege is the most epic game of the amazing trilogy. A game that can’t be missed.”

Onimusha 3 Demon Siege is rated "M" for Mature and carries a MSRP of $49.99.
