Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4 Gets The Necessary Patch

Well, it's nice that you're fixing it, but that still doesn't excuse the rocky launch .

We're pretty tired of seeing technically unstable games hit store shelves. On the flip side, thumbs up to developers who want to repair the damage.

A new patch for the glitchy PlayStation 4 version of Ultra Street Fighter IV has been released; you can find the full patch notes over at the PlayStation Blog . As you can see, the update should fix a lot of the problems gamers have been complaining about.

For instance, the patch will reduce input lag, repair some of those nasty visual bugs, and tweak certain character moves. Hey, when the Evo competitive gaming tournament has to drop the PS4 version because it's so buggy (they opted for the Xbox 360 version), you know something is seriously amiss.

Ultra Street Fighter IV Omega Mode Doles Out Fun New Moves

So, you think you've mastered Ultra Street Fighter IV .

Well, Capcom has some news for ya, hot shot: As revealed at the publisher's blog , a new Omega Mode is headed to the acclaimed fighter.

This will outfit each fighter with fresh normal and special attacks, and the focus is "fun," not balance. This means you can expect "strong, fan favorite attacks such as Ken's Shinppu Jinrai Kyaku and Sagat's Tiger Raid" and it'll be oh-so-cool to see Zangief combo-ing into his command throws! The mode will be playable online but not in ranked matches, and the official Capcom tournaments and Capcom Pro Tour affiliate tournaments will use the default Ultra balance only.

Doesn't mean you can't experiment just for the heck of it, though! Check it out:

Decapre Is Ultra Street Fighter IV’s Fifth Secret Character

Capcom has been teasing the fifth new secret character for Ultra Street Fighter IV for a while .

Now she's here: It's Decapre, who's part of M. Bison's deadly Doll guard. Basically, she's like a clone of former Bison Doll and current MI6 operative, Cammy.

But unlike Cammy, Decapre wears a mask to hide a huge burn on her face, and she uses claw techniques reminiscent of Vega. According to the official word from Capcom, she also takes advantage of "quick and elusive scramble moves as well as her psycho power infused attacks." In a new IGN interview , Capcom's Pete "Combofiend" Rosas elaborates on Decapre's style:

"A lot of her basic attacks are the same [as Cammy's], much like how a lot of Ryu's attacks are the same as Evil Ryu's, and a lot of Oni's attacks are the same as Akuma's. There are a lot of similarities there. But what really differentiates them are the Ultras, the usage of the special moves, and some of their combos."

There are 39 returning fighters in the upcoming title, along with the previously revealed Rolento, Elena, Hugo and Poison. Capcom will release Ultra Street Fighter IV as an add-on to Super Street Fighter IV in June on PS3 and Xbox 360 (it'll come to the PC in August). If you don't have the latter and you just want to buy the Ultra edition outright, all platform players can do that in August as well.
