Warner Bros. Confirms More Content For Mortal Kombat X

It's not over for Mortal Kombat X .

The popular and well-received fighter has already received a bunch of extra content but developer NetherRealm Studios isn't done.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that MKX would be getting more content, which will roll out during the first half of 2016. Fans will get more playable characters along with new skins and a new environment. The publisher didn't reveal the new fighters but you can see a few shadowy outlines in this picture; some think one of them might be Wolverine…

No word on pricing, either, but as a frame of reference, the first Kombat Pack went for $30 and it came with four new characters: Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya and Tremor. And don't forget that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game have been canceled .

Mortal Kombat X For PS3/360 Finally Axed

Originally, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X were supposed to launch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One iterations.

But the PS3 and 360 versions kept getting delayed and now, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the cancellation of MKX for the older consoles.

In the announcement statement , WBIE said the teams just couldn't get the PS3 and 360 games to perform at an acceptable level of quality:

"After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned."

If you pre-ordered a copy of the game on PS3 or Xbox 360, you will receive a refund. Mortal Kombat X for PS4 and Xbox One launched in April to very positive reviews; check it out if you haven't already. And upgrade your console, damnit!

Mortal Kombat X Tremor Bundle Confirmed

Time to experiment with another bad-ass fighter in Mortal Kombat X .

Publisher Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the latest addition to the MKX roster: Tremor. In the trailer (see it below), the newcomer destroys his opponents with various earth-based attacks.

They also revealed that Tremor will launch on July 21 via the Tremor Bundle. This will be free for those who picked up the $30 Kombat Pack DLC Pass and it's the final announced add-on pack for the game. If you didn't snag the Pass, you'll have to shell out $8 and wait another week (July 28) to purchase the Tremor Bundle, which also includes the Klassic Skins Pack 2. If you'd like to get only one or the other, you can grab Tremor for $5, and the Skins Pack 2 for $4. You save a buck if you get both together, obviously.

It was also announced that more free DLC is coming for all. The Klassic Fatalities Pack 2, which features Fatalities for Mileena, Kitana, Kung Lao and Jax will land on July 21 as well.
