Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Will Have Vita-Specific Features

Hey, don't forget that one of the best high-definition collections of the generation is headed to the PlayStation Vita.

It's the fabulous Metal Gear Solid HD Collection , and Hideo Kojima has provided gamers with a few new screenshots and fresh details .

There will be new features exclusive to Sony's portable, and that includes rear touch pad controls. Basically, it can be used to knife your enemies; the translation reads- "If you flick the touch pad back, it is possible to write off the throat of the enemy with a knife." Yeah, it's rough but you get the point. The rear pad can also be used in first-person to stretch the view, and you might even be able to zoom in and out, too.

We just hope all these fancy control schemes work out well. Whenever you've got a multitude of options for control, developers sometimes want to use them all…to the detriment of game flow. But we imagine Kojima and Co. know exactly what they're doing, so we're not worried.

They need to revamp the controls. I stopped playing snake eater HD because I hate the controls. Will be getting the 3DS version instead since he added a Peace Walker type control scheme to it.

I absolutely agree. Peace Walker plays 10X better than Snake Eater because of the controls. Would it really have been that difficult to put modern controls in Snake Eater and MGS2? I know Kojima is a genious but the controls in MGS2 and MGS3 are really bad when you compare them to modern games. They should be updated.

while it will be great if they can do that, but like Kojima said, if they go back change something, then that something will lead to something else, and so on, and they will end up having to change everything. i think that was why they did not do that…

but I agree that control in MGS2 and 3 are awkward especially when you need to take a peep of the surroundings, then again at the time it was made on ps2, they were so epic and without that comparison, these drawbacks were not that much annoying then.

Maybe it's because I've played them so regularly and play older games in general too but it's fine. I also agree, I would rather the games untouched as they are, just brought into the HD fold.

Bigboss, they already revamped the controls for the 3DS version. The same can be done with the Vita version if they are willing.

If Sony give you the Vita copy for free if you buy the PS3 version, I would buy a Vita DAY 1!!!!
