Sony Boss: Borderlands 2 On Vita Is Like, Really Good

It's the game that will debut with the freshly overhauled PlayStation Vita 2000 model.

So, does it have the chops for such a task? It was an award-winner on consoles, but can Borderlands 2 really thrive on a portable device?

Apparently it can.

PlayStation vice president of publisher and developer relations Adam Boyes says the Vita version of the super popular sequel is very good on Sony's handheld. As he said on Twitter :

"I was playing a ton of Borderlands 2 Vita this week. SO GOOD."

He didn't give us an exact release date for that awesome Vita bundle, though. All we know is that it will launch in the US this spring with a price tag of $199. It will include the new system (lighter and thinner, with a new LCD screen), an 8GB memory card, and a copy of Borderlands 2 , which also includes all the available DLC. The game is a collaborative effort between Sony, 2K, and Iron Galaxy Studios ( Divekick ).

Here's hoping it turns out as well as Boyes claims!

I put so many hours into it already and not that long ago. I wish it had been a new game. The Vita needs more than ports.

Yeah. If you already played it on the PS3 or PC (anyone interested in the game did) what exactly is the point of double-dipping to play the same game again?

It should've been a new entry in the series. Vita needs unique games that you cannot play anywhere else. Missed opportunity.

I put tons of hours into borderlands 2 as well on the ps3. This game was meant for the big screen, although I have problem with it being on the Vita.

Borderlands 2 released on September 18, 2012. Hardly a "few years ago". No problem if you want to rant, but do and try and keep it at least close to factually accurate please. Otherwise you just come off sounding like an irrational crazy person instead of someone with an actual valid point. Perception is everything.

Yes – those frivolous things – like facts. You greatly exaggerated the amount of time since it's release – which is, in fact, the central point underlying your argument. Failure.

Now, about that cross platform multiplayer thing… Just do it damnit. Open up for other platforms to join in these coop games! Let PC or Xbox gamers hook up with a Vita gamer if so they please. FFS.

I for one are really looking forward to this on the Vita. It's a portable and I can play Uncharted, Killzone, Fifa, Assassins Creed, Need for Speed, Dead or Alive and soon Borderlands… What's not to like about that?
