If you didn't pick it up last year, or you'd simply rather have such a collection available on the go, we've got good news.
You don't have much longer to wait before you can put the Metal Gear HD Collection on your slick new PlayStation Vita. Konami has announced the release date: June 12.
Just remember that you don't get the PSP iteration, Peace Walker , which was included in the console release. You do, however, get the high-definition remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater , along with the super cool feature known as "Transfarring," which lets you transfer save data between the PS3 and Vita. As for portable-specific features, the Collection will take advantage of the touchscreen and rear touchpad, as these will be used to zoom in on cut-scenes, peek around corners, cycle through weapons, and even interrogate enemies.
If you'd like to read the analysis of last year's package, go right ahead. Obviously, it's well worth your time.

can't wait to relive snake's journey outside the living room.
Unfortunately, my G3 Vita just bricked.
I've been so busy that I never even got the chance to even play it yet, and except for just D/L'ing Escape Plan, Motorstorm RC, and a few apps I went to turn it on Tuesday to buy some more Motorstorm RC vehicles & I couldn't even get it even turn on anymore.
Plus I could never get AT&T's screwed-up G3 data plan to work either.
Anyway, I got my money back took it back from Gamestop & I'll try again in about a year or so only after all the bugs are worked out.
But since GS won't take back my 3 Vita games as new because I took their wrappers off, I've now going to sell them & I thought I'd give our PSXE member's 1st dibs before I sell them elsewhere.
Wipeout 2048 for $25 (lists for $39.99)
Hot Shots Golf for $25 (lists for $39.99)
Uncharted:Golden Abyss $35 (lists for $49.99)
FYI, just email me here at my PSXE email address & we can work out the details…. Sa***@ma*********.com
Hardware betas suck balls.
That was an easy fix bikersaint. You connect your vita to the charger and go into recovery mode. That happened to mine once and thought it bricked. It happened when it was downloading something. Checked online and found a solution.
Same here, it's actually happened twice to me. I thought it bricked and also found that solution. Don't really like the fact that it's doing that though.
Also that sucks that Peace Walker doesn't come with it.
Guys,
After it bricked, I had it on the charger for 5 hours thinking that the battery might've just drained while sitting for a week. And I kept trying to turn it on from there with no results as it refused to turn on.
So how could I gotten it to go into recovery mode if I couldn't get it to even turn on????
I don't quite remember the process but you can find it on youtube super fast, I think you hold the power button for a certain amount of time until it reboots.
Thanks guys,
I just checked YouTube as suggested, and it does seems there is a quick fix for a bricked Vita(but as I already returned my Vita in to GameStop, I can't try it out now.)
Anyway, for those who might wind up with their Vita bricking later on, according to the video I just watched, the simple instructions to recover your Vita, are …
Hold down the PS button, the right/trigger, & the power button all at the same time until the recovery screen comes on.

I have the PS3 version of this and can't believe how much easier the extra ops are on Peace Walker are with online coop mode. When four people gang up on those tanks it goes by so much faster! This will be a nice addition to what the vita is offering.
pass.
ps3 version of this was absolutely horrible!
out of every HD collection released this is by far the least improved!
so stupid peace walker is not available in this too especially when the ps3 version offered it.
no thanks konami, i dont pay ferrari money for a kia!
What are you babbling about?! The Metal Gear Solid HD collection is fantastic! Finally the games are put in widescreen, Peace Walker is actually playable. and it retains everything from the special editions other than the MGS3 Online and Monkey minigames… I don't see an issue here…
wow widescreen thats SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing!
out of all the games that have had a HD remake this is by far the least improved version!
the controls have not even been updated so there still sluggish and freaking useless!
not to mention the frantic screen tearing and constant frame rate drops!
In what HD collection so far have the controls changed? The controls are fine the way they are, in all honesty I much prefer the gameplay in MGS2 to MGS4. Have you seen the shoddy 3DS release of MGS3, which has the 3rd person aiming system added it looks disgusting.
And yes being put in widescreen is a mircale, I still cannot figure out why they weren't before hand. Not only that, but they have also spread the cutscenes to fit full screen like on MGS4 as opposed to the old cropped aspect ratio, making the ctuscenes look even more fantastic.
These are not remakes, you do realise that right, they're meant to be re-released in HD, which is precisely what they are. If anything the frame rate has improved, do you remember how back some of MGS3's cutscenes were back on the PS2?
I was very content with the HD Collection, I'm suprised to hear you have experience such problems, I certainly didn't and had a blast playing through the whole series again.
I'm sorry I just can't see these games working on a portable device, the introduction to MGS3 takes 30 minutes before you control Snake. I love Mteal Gear and it's cutscenes but I wouldn't want to have to sit outsite and watch them. I'm content with my PS3 version.
