The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is an absolute must-have for hardcore fans of the legendary franchise.
But they might also want to grab it for the PlayStation Vita, as it will debut the wickedly cool "transfarring" feature, which is undoubtedly one of the biggest appeals of Sony's new portable. Sharing data between the PS3 and Vita? Yes, please.
And the good news is that according to Konami (as reported by Eurogamer ), the game is now set for "late June" in Europe. As for North America, it seems retailers GameStop and Amazon have seen fit to give the Collection a June 12 launch date. Just remember that while the console version of the game featured Peace Walker for the PSP, the Vita iteration will not.
These high-definition overhauls are great for the die-hard followers. I just love that ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection , for instance.

Hmm. I've never been a big fan of MGS, but I may actually consider this one.
Have it in the ps3.
Need to play FFX, hurry up Squarnex.
So play it on the PS2. 🙂
So I saw that they are increasing the resolution on FFX and releasing it on Vita so now I get what you meant. I'm not exactly thrilled about buying (and playing) an 11 year old game all over again though.
I would but then I wouldn't feel like playing it again when the HD comes out. I am thrilled to buy and play an 11 year old game since they can't seem to make a modern game half as good.

I'll pick it up if the controls are reworked to play like the 3DS version.
I couldn't resist. Target had a deal were you buy a Vita and get a free 4gb card as Unit 13. Man, I love new gadgets.
Well this actually sucks, the only one I was really interested in was Peace Walker and it' s not included.
Are they going to release a vita version of peace walker by itself because I'd like to play it, but last time I checked the psp version wasn't compatible with the vita.
The HD version didn't translate well in my opinion. I actually prefer playing it on my PSP instead of my PS3.
You can already buy PW and play it on your Vita.
You just got to use your PS3 to download and then transfer the game to your Vita. I'm not sure why its not on the Vita Store yet… But you can still get it.

Yup, I think the Vita can upscale PSP format games as well.
Yeah, They have a few options to enhance the look of the game. But the number one thing that makes it good is that the Vita lets you remap the face buttons.
So you can now control the camera with the right analog stick.

thanks for the info, assumed since it wasn't on the vita store it wouldn't work, many other games don't work so, just figured it wouldn't either.
Wait. I have to buy it for the vita too? What happened to remotely playing a game that is in your ps3 with your vita? Im not going to buy two versions of every game I like. I'd rather have 10 unique games than 5 sets of the same game just so i could make use of this transferring feature.
I bought the 3DS version of Snake Eater even though I own the HD collection on PS3 because they fixed the controls and it's in 3D of course. As for remote play, it was one of the main features advertised. I just hope they have improved it with the Vita. There is a lot of lag when using it to play games off your PS3 HDD with the PSP.
remote playing games on the vita was a marketing stunt in my opinion. Right now the only way to remote play games on the vita is to have a PS3 running 3.55 firmware and register your vita as a "mobile device" on your PS3. Bummer.

Well we're at firmware 4.11 so you're behind. And registering it to your PS3 is not a big deal. It takes 2 seconds and isn't more difficult than paring an iPhone with a Mac or PC.
It's not a gimmick. It works just fine for most purposes other than playing PS3 games via remote play. I tested it last night and played Resident Evil 3 off my PS3 HDD with the Vita and it works much better than the PSP. I suspect as the firmware updates continue to roll out we'll start to see better compatibility.
So jawk… What are your impressions on the vita? Do you like it?
As far as Peacewalker is concerned… If you downloaded it for the psp then you can actually tranfer it over to the vita via ps3. They don't list it as a game you can play on the vita but it is indeed possible as long as you download it to your ps3 and then transfer it over to the vita. Pretty cool. So thats pretty much the whole collection. Winning!!! LOL
It's awesome. Very neat piece of hardware. Can't wait for Gravity Rush. The demo was fun.
