It makes perfect sense. It was on the PSP and it's a major third-party franchise, which Sony wants on the Vita ( Assassin's Creed , Call of Duty , and others are coming, too).
While everyone lies in wait for the announcement of an official launch date for Grand Theft Auto V , it has come to our attention that a UK retailer may have spilled the beans on a new portable installment in the award-winning series.
The listing at Play.com has been taken down, but Eurogamer was able to nab a screenshot before it disappeared: clearly, the game is called Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights and it holds a €39.99 price tag (about $50). There are no further details, besides the fact that three other titles were posted and then removed: Monster Hunter Portable 3 , Tales of Innocence R , and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD .
None of the companies involved have offered anything official, but that's a hefty list of great Vita titles. Monster Hunter was probably a given from the start, as it remains a huge driver of sales in Japan. Tales of Innocence R is already out in Japan (it launched in January), so perhaps the biggest surprise is that HD version of Final Fantasy Type-0 . But surprises or no, this is fantastic news; more high-profile software for the Vita!
Man, I knew eventually a game or two would be announced for Vita that would prompt me to pick one up, but I didn't think it would be THIS soon 🙂 A sequel/spinoff to Vice City with Vita-caliber graphics???? Holy S**t!
When the cover of GTA: Vice City Nights starts popping up all over the internet one thing is for certain: That'll take me one good leap closer to getting me a Vita.
Just come on and give me one good RPG for it too now, and I'm probably there. By then the first price drop should be behind us too. 🙂

I'm liking the GTA title. While we're at can we throw in a Kojima game of some sort.

Uhm… Well… Pray for (or to?) Sony all you want but it's not them who are behind GTA. It's a studio owned by a company called Rockstar.
But God may of course bless Rockstar too. I'm sure he can fit that into his schedule. Well, unless they make another Hot Coffee. I don't think that's so easily blessed.
Or, well, all the killing. I believe your god once said "thou shall not kill".

I hope FF Type-0 still comes out for PSP.
It probably will still be localized on the PSP.
I played through the Japanese version of the game and it's pretty good.
I doubt they'll waste that code on an Asia-only release on the PSP.
Though, this HD version for the Vita is sounding pretty awesome. If this comes out, getting a Vita will be a definite must for me.
A new Vice City GTA? Awesome! Vice City was my favorite out of the series.
These two are big in Japan…
Monster Hunter Portable 3, Tales of Innocence R
These are big in the West
Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto
Add these games and others like them to the Vita line up, and I don't care who you are, you have something to play.
I have never played a Monster Hunter game but I hear they are great. Might have to pick it up if it comes out over here (since I hear that is rare) to see what all the fuss is about.
I played two on the PSP, and they are typical RPGs with lots of stuff to do, crafting, harvesting, questing, exploring, stats to read and of course: Hunt big monsters.
I'd not call them *epic* great, but pretty fun they are. Probably my best jrpg experiences.

As I do love jrpgs I think I will take your statement as an endorsement of the series and the fun I will have with it.
If I don't like it I place the blame entirely on you 😛
Hehe well then, be aware that I am a very wrpg style kind of RPG fan, so I guess that when I like a jrpg it must be because it has certain wrpg qualities.
But yeah, Monster Hunter were quite cool.

A new Vice city game sounds awesome!
I hope we get San andreas stories at some point too.
Yes, I'll be looking forward to seeing some Vita AC, COD & GTA.
Im gonna be mad if Final Fantasy Type 0 turns into a PS Vita release in the US when it was a PSP release in japan/eu -_-
Ooooo baby, if Vita got a US port of MHP3, that might actually make it worth while to pick up! Please dont get me wrong, the vita looks sweet as hell, but the price tag is a bit much imo, with a mem card ontop of that, aswell as having no real titles that intrest me atm.
I was heartbroken when capcom said they werent going to port MHP3 over to the psp, I'm sure most fans over here were aswell….. well those of us that didnt crack our psps….
Great to see these kind of titles roll out for Vita… it will add to its future sales successes… this is the support the Vita needs early on in its life…
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
the listings obviously a poor photoshop, look how scrunched it is!
there will definitely be a GTA game for the vita eventually, but its a little early yet.
and this certainly is not it!
Final Fantasy Type-0? Monster Hunter?
Now THAT'S more like it. The Vita launch line-up didn't really interest me that much, except for Wipeout maybe….
Been waiting about news for Type-0 for a while. Played through the Japanese demo recently, and I'm LOVED it, even though I can't understand a lick of Japanese 😉
Even if it somehow isn't the ps4, I'm hoping Sony finally implements full remote play between the vita and ps3. That was one of the reasons I picked up
The vita in the first place.
