Christopher D. AndersonGamescom is in full swing over in Germany and the news has been fairly par for the course so far except a few interesting announcements. One game that stuck out from the crowd was BioMutant. Developed by THQ Nordic and worked on by some members from Just Cause and Mad Max developers, BioMutant is an open world action rpg that looks like it has a lot of potential.
Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic game filled with humanoid animals, yourself included. It’s your job to save the world from a plague that is slowly taking over the world. In your journeys you’ll do a lot of fighting and helping other tribes.
One interesting part is the customization aspect. There are a ton of options in customizing your character. And that isn’t just with looks either. You can also use mutations and biomechanics to enhance both your looks and your abilities. This in turn gives you a ton of options for how your character develops as well.
Fighting also includes a variety of weapons from swords to machine guns. There are also some very interesting variations of transportation as well. As shown in the video below you can see balloons, planes, and even a mechanical hand (finger gun and all), which looks highly amusing.
The customization tops off what looks to be an amusing but fulfilling world. Biomutant is coming out sometime in 2018.
