announced . And you know what? Iâm actually somewhat excited for this.
I have always been a bit of a fan for World War 2 shooters. I mean, I still consider World At War to be one of the best shooters ever made, and definitely the best WWII shooter of all time. The atmosphere, the gritty and dark combat. The chaos and confusion of war. World War 2 is by far one of my favorite settings in a first person shooter, and while I absolutely cannot deny the masterpiece that was Call of Duty 4, I gotta admit; I miss WW2.
So, to hear that Call of Duty was going back to its roots, I was pretty damn excited. I finally get to experience the joys of combat in a World War 2 setting again.
Of course, the big announcement wonât happen until Wednesday. What features will we get this time around? Whatâs the campaign like? Is it historically accurate, or is wall running gonna be a thing? There are still so many questions left unanswered, and it doesnât seem like weâre going to get any more news out of Activision or Sledgehammer Games until their official livestream unveiling this Wednesday.
For all the latest Call of Duty: WWII coverage, stay tuned to PSX Extreme.

Seriously, I don't know about you, but I really hope this includes an awesome co-op campaign. I'm getting tired of zombies…
Uh, does this thing say 34 comments (home page) for anyone else? Did I break something already?
That used to happen frequently even in the past.
I see the 34 comments too but i think the site been like that for awhile. As for the Call of Duty news eeeh personally i never been a Call of duty fan. so i have no opinion either way.
Signs Of Life wow i never though we would be back
The truth is, I bet this will be a down right decent game, but then again I suspect Infinity Warfare was to. It's not like it didn't sell decent. This one may be a step up in dedication to quality, but it would still take a another Wolfenstein Occult style setting to get me to purchase a WWII theme game.
I see 5 comments.
About WWII games…i liked medall of honor[some tiiiiime ago]and nowadays Wolfenstein[can't wait for colossus],this is not for me but for all you[many] fans of Call of Duty:enjoy

Colossus ? Did I miss something in the Wolfenstein series.
At E3 2016 Bethesda teased the name of Colossus [i believe it was in a list of games from Bethesda[they also publish games] and were Wolfensteins name came, there was also the name of Colossus] after that there are all kind of rumors that Bethesda will announce the next Wolfenstein Colossus at E3 this year,i'm guessing that Bethesda will do a "Fallout 4":announce it AND release it within 6 months],so: it's all rumors but we also know Bethesda, till the end very very secretly and quiet

That would be slick. Give me a new Wolfenstein with more off the wall occult weapons running on id 6 or 7 engine.
It has me excited as well. With the graphics and physics we have today it could be an amazing experience.
Might my first CoD game in a very long while.
Looking forward to this better than the futuristic rubbish they have been throwing out the past few years 🙂
Last year's was my favorite of the series. Single player wise. Haven't tried the other stuff

COD hahaah its over
Sledgehammer is making it so it will; not meet your expectations a la AW
Honestly, I never really got into AW. Never liked the whole futuristic stuff, and felt if I wanted a futuristic shooter, I could just go and boot up my copy of Killzone Shadow Fall, which I still love and adore even to this day. (also seemingly the only one that does)
The last Call of Duty I owned was Ghosts. I got it at launch with my PS4. I somewhat enjoyed the concept of it, but felt like it was weak overall, and I've yet to buy another full title COD since.
Call of Duty: World at War was one of my all time favourite shooters, and my all-time fav for WW2 shooters. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for WW2. It's one of the darkest times in human history, and that fascinates me to no end. So, I'm definitely keeping a watchful eye on COD:WW2. In recent years COD became a "let's appease our 12 year old audience by including memes" type of game, which is not the COD I remember. The comment on COD returning to its roots, as well as the WW2 setting, is definitely piquing my interest.
Just go back to Modern Warfare and tell an amazing story oh and give us a year off like it would be nice to have all the best maps in one game thats what a remaster should be about not loot boxes and microtransactions
I've never been into call of duty to be honest. I guess i'm not a wargame kind of person. Don't really play battlefield games either. From the looks of it though they seem to be possibly going back to what the original call of dutys were about though.
If i'm wrong though please correct me! Also glad I can start reading up again even if I don't comment often.
World At War was a really really great shooter. Fantastic fun in coop too.
Then again, coop is never wrong if implemented properly and played with friends.
I'm excited to see what the world reveal will be like. Part of me has hope that this will bring COD back to the greatness it was back in the days of Modern Warfare, World at War and the first Black Ops. Sledgehammer has a chance to make an awesome Call of Duty here, provided it has a decent story and the gameplay for the online and campaign goes back to the 'boots on the ground' gameplay that made the series so great.
Baack to the future! I guess eventually you have to start over. But I think it's a good move before the game becomes Mass Effect.
E3 will be great this year, more likely than not. But to be the best ever it would have to compete with a FFVII remake trailer from 2015. There are plenty of other note worthy moments. It's become very competitive over the past two decades.
… I think I could see the white's of that soldiers eyes from too far away.
with annual releases and all I suppose going back to WWII was inevitable.
