Last year, we learned that developer Team Ninja had successfully resurrected Nioh .
Originally in development for PS3 and eventually shelved, this promising production is back in the works for PlayStation 4, and we'll get a chance to try it out very soon.
As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , a demo for Nioh will land later this month. The "alpha demo" will be ready to roll on PS4 on April 26, but bear in mind it'll only be available for a limited time; in fact, only until May 5. Better make sure you download it before it disappears!
If you do download it and clear the stage in the demo, you'll snag a DLC pack for the final game called The Mark of the Conqueror. We don't know what's in it just yet but hey, free extra content is always good. Team Ninja will ask you for feedback based on your experience, too, so they can make the game "even more fun."
For now, all we know is that Nioh is due out at some point this year, and it remains one of the more promising PS4 exclusives on the horizon. Which reminds us of another exclusive with a boatload of potential: Horizon: Zero Dawn .
Anyway, for a peek at what the demo will include, here's a teaser. It really does seem like a blend of Dark Souls and Onimusha , doesn't it?
Related Game(s): Nioh
Onimusha meets Dark Souls? I'll give the Demo a try.
ah man i loved onimusha!
Okay THAT looks like a much better version of how the Witcher's combat should have been.
This looks sick! Will for sure pick up the demo.
Will play.
Looks incredible, I dont need to play it to know that I want it.
I could not help but think "Today is a good day to die…" when the trailer asks "Ready to die?"
In death is the way of the Samurai indeed.
I bit more red stuff than I normally like, but I'll give the demo a go.
Not a fan of blood?
Also its been a long time, I have a question…did you ever end up playing Ni No Kuni?
I remember why you were not playing it and I'm not trying to spark any of that, but I'm curious if you managed to get it used or something.
No, I never played Ni No Kuni and have no real interest in ever doing so. I migrated to FFXIV, and stuck around there.
As much as I enjoyed Ni No Kuni I might skip the second one cuz I don't like furries much.
Level 5 would be better served to sequel up a more beloved property like Rogue Galaxy or Dark Cloud. Maybe even turn White Knight Chronicles into the game it was meant to be with a finale.

Hot damn! No joke but I always thought you were a furries guy or didn't mind. Happy to know now (Y).
Ahh I see. Shame I still think you would like it.
FF14 I have a lot of friends playing that game. They say the story is fantastic.
Yeah, the story is good, and the game play is too.
I know a lot of players criticize the battle system, because of the 2.5 second global cool down used. But to be honest, except in the very early dungeons where you have 3 or 4 skills to use and nothing off GCD, it can feel slower than you might like. When you get to level 50 and beyond, you have more than enough to do to fill the time between skill use, and unless you thoroughly overgear what you're running, you'll be engaged.
The game has a crap-ton of content in it now, with FFXIV A Realm Reborn (v2.0) plus 6 major patch released that added significant content; and then the Heavensward (v3.0) expansion that brought a whole new main story, new raids, increased level caps, new jobs, and a new player race; followed by 2 major patches adding even more content. There is more than enough to keep any new player busy for a very long time.
It's fortunate that you can gain all jobs/classes on one character, if you had to roll alts for other roles, and run them through the story too, no one would do it because of how long it would take them. That said I have a couple of alts so I can experience the story from the 3 start points in the game, each is a bit different to the other.
