Not a fan of paid downloadable content? Developer Ghost Games understands.
During a recent Vice interview , creative director Craig Sullivan revealed that his team has no plans to release any paid DLC or microtransactions for the recently released Need for Speed reboot.
Sullivan said they're listening to what the fans want and nobody is saying, "Can you build a load of stuff and charge us for it?" And the developers probably aren't going to change their minds in the future, either:
" I know some people when we do press like this, they say, 'Yeah, but I'm sure it'll all change in a week or two, or six months.' It's not going to. The plan is that there are no transactions in this game. All of the content that we're going to give you–a pretty substantial amount in the future, starting pretty soon–is going to be free. That's what players deserve. "
Sullivan admitted that he can't say with 100 percent certainty that no paid extra content will ever arrive for the game. However, he can say, "hand on heart," that there are absolutely no plans in the works right now for paid DLC or microtransactions. And for those who hate that kind of thing, that's about all you can ask for, right? As for the studio's current plans:
"We're going to give you everything for free. I've seen the plans for what's going to happen over the next few weeks and months–there's nothing in there, by which I mean, we don't even have the ability to charge you in the game. There's no store to speak of."
Need for Speed just launched this week for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The developer says the beta test really helped improve the game and previously, Ghost Games said their goal was to "modernize" the NFS experience .

Yeah they're real heroes, they just made the entire game require an online connection at all times for no reason whatsoever, including single player.
Don't worry about that, on their facebook page they mentioned u don't have to be connected when playing solo.

Actual reviews of the game say different:
"I did notice a small but forgivable handful of framerate drops during my playtime on the PS4, and the game's always-online setup meant I could never truly pause the game. If you ever need to quickly pause the action to, say, answer your phone or stop your cat from destroying your furniture, you simply can't unless you're willing to lose whatever event you're playing. I was also disconnected from EA's servers anytime I was away from the game for even a brief period, which led to the unnecessary hassle of reconnecting just to continue playing by myself." – Gamespot review

When someone tells me "I promise I'm not lying" or something similar (like "hand to heart, this is the truth"), experience has taught me they're lying their ass off.
And regardless of what Ghost Games says, EA calls the shots, and EA likes microtransactions. And paid DLC.
I'm hoping the free DLC's offer more cars. I'm shattered they have't added the new Subaru WRX 🙁
They don't have anything of the sort planned "now" …. maybe "tomorrow"?
