Yes, Batman: Arkham Knight is stellar. It only proves once again that Rocksteady is a top-tier developer.
However, doesn't it behoove us to ask such a talented team to branch out? Shouldn't they spread their wings and apply their obviously prodigious talents to something new?
I'm all for giving the fans what they want and I was the first to applaud Rocksteady's return to the Batman franchise. Arkham Origins just wasn't up to snuff and the franchise needed a rejuvenation that only Rocksteady could provide. I think that much is clear now. Arkham Knight is, in my mind, the definitive Batman game and quite possibly the best superhero game ever devised.
Okay, so you've scaled that mountain. You've planted your flag and gamers everywhere should be mucho appreciative. So, what to do now? I suppose you could tackle another superhero game; we've needed a fantastic Superman game for decades. But personally, I'd like to see these guys try something entirely different. Like what Guerrilla Games is doing with Horizon: Zero Dawn (talk about a departure from Killzone , right?). Great developers owe it to themselves to try their capable hands at new ideas and concepts, and we all benefit when that happens.
Well, ideally. I guess Rocksteady could try an RPG or a platformer or something and it could end up sucking. Then we'd all be yelling at them to make another Batman . But isn't that a risk worth taking? I think it is.
Next up: Man of Steel
Congratulations on having an avatar larger than the gross domestic product of Germany.
Why I can't make my avatar big like this?
Go for it.
Being the only dev who knows how to do licensed super hero games right I want them on Superman next. I'd like a quality Xmen or Avengers series as well

I have to say, Arkham Knight is one dang awesome game. I'm liking it more and more each time I play it.
+ 1. If anyone can finally give us a great Superman game, it's Rocksteady. Quite a few Superman allusions in Arkham Knight, so I'm optimistic 🙂
Ooh, and also loving Arkham Knight. I was a bit ambivalent when I started it but now I'm all in. I even really like the Batmobile (switch to "toggle" mode, makes a WORLD of difference.)
Superman movies and games don't have a chance of being good because you can't make anything interesting out of a character who is basically god unless you whip out the dumbest mcguffin in entertainment history.
They should make Green Arrow game, and make it stealth game. Definitely day one for me if they make that.
Or they can make Joker stand alone game, that would be crazy…
Yes! If it has to be a Super Hero game, make it Green Arrow and make it stealthy. Love this idea!
🙂
I think master chief should have a stand alone game by them.
Seriously though, they need to stick to comic book super heroes. If one thing can be said, Arkham series is the best super hero video game series ever created. They should hone that, and continue down that road. Maybe a punisher game or something. Unless hes marvel in which case Deathstroke game? I dunno.
If I remember correctly, they were rumored to have been trying to develop a TMNT game a few years ago. I personally would love to see them do that next.

I think Sefton Hill said in an interview they wouldn't be making a TMNT game anytime soon.
Switch to Marvel and do Captain America. The next film is gonna be explosive.
I was telling my wife the other night I'd like to see them do an Iron Man game. Unreal's metallic look would work well with Iron Man's armor me thinks. 🙂
yeah it would. I can't believe with the huge vision of the MC comic universe and the MC film universe that nobody is trying to get Avengers into top quality video games.
Yeesh, I tried some of those Iron Man games that released when the movies were coming out. Terrible.
You guys ought to tell Disney or Marvel Studios to hire these guys to make the game.
I disagree. Things are just starting to get good. Bat mobile now, Batwing later.
They have already said it's a last batman game
Let's bring them to Sony exclusively and squeeze an inFamous out of them while Sucker Punch does new work.
How can Ben Affleck be Batman? I don't understand.
Ben Affleck might be the only good thing in the new Superman movie. At the very least, complaining about his casting when Caville is Superman and, more importantly, Hack Snyder is directing, is nitpicking.
Affleck is basically the only talented person attached to that project.
Lol Affleck sucks. He along with Schneider are going to ruin Batman for another generation just like the Kilmer and Clooney movie ruined Batcinema after the Tim Burton movies. It's going to take another great director like Christoper Nolan to pick up the pieces again.
The only thing that looks remotely cool about this new movie is the Batmobile design.
Ben Affleck will be a great batman, don't be a hater…
Affleck is a great actor, his problem was that, much like McConaughey, he slummed with rom-coms for years until people stopped taking him seriously. He's great in Good Will Hunting, Argo, The Town, Extract, Chasing Amy, Changing Lanes and Boiler Room (even if some of those movies are, themselves, decidedly mediocre).
The fact that he's also proven to be an extremely gifted director is another feather in his cap.
I am a hater. You trying to convince me that that the dude who stared in Gili going to be a good Batman is going to go no where. Not to mention the dude is a complete tool and a cry baby. 100% douche in cinema and real life.
Bio, I honestly and willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about his directing skills as I have never given any of his directed movies that chance. I just haven't had the time of desire to watch any of them. But of the movies you listed that I have seen that he's stared in, thumbs down.

Al Pacino was in Gigli. Does that mean Al Pacino sucks now?
Al Pachino has been mostly bad movies for the last 2 decades.
Suck at making an RPG? Batman has RPG elements and no one complains about that.
Am I the only one who would love for Rocksteady to make a Spawn game?
Even though a Canadian created Superman, I couldn't care less about him. He's the most 1-dimensional, overpowered, bland character in comic book history to me.
Spawn would be cool. His fighting machanics are similar to Bats.
That's what I was thinking, they both lurk in the shadows most of the time.
They have already said it's a last batman game
