Will This Year’s E3 Surprise Everyone By Being Memorable?

I think a lot of people are sleeping on this year's E3.

Perhaps they have every right to do so. Right now, it doesn't seem like it's shaping up to be a firework-laden show.

E3 2013 was such a huge deal because both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were going to launch in the fall. Last year's show was okay but nothing too earth-shattering and this year, everyone is hoping for some big announcements, but I don't think many are holding their breath. Sony should probably try and step up with some big first-party announcements (Quantic Dream, Guerrilla Games, Sony Santa Monica, Polyphony, Sucker Punch, etc.) but who knows if they will? And I think we've all given up on The Last Guardian .

We'll see plenty of Rise of the Tomb Raider , I'm sure, along with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain , Assassin's Creed Syndicate , Call of Duty: Black Ops III , and Star Wars: Battlefront . And I guess more footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (and a release date) could generate some waves. But aside from that, we're not really counting on major upheaval. …and that's usually when something drops that shocks the hell out of everyone.

Also, don't forget that developers have had more time with the new consoles, so we should start seeing extremely promising titles designed specifically for PS4 and Xbox One. I think we've moved past the days of reboots, remasters, and definitive editions; I'm sure we'll still see more, but the first year of the current generation just saw an onslaught. I don't think we'll see that again, which means new games are on the horizon. And a lot of them coudl turn heads big time at E3 2015.

What say you?

The first of our years without Jack Tretton the hype machine.

What even is this sleepy E3. I'm watching for Gran Turismo 7 but also ready to be pleasantly surprised.

Let's go!

Hoping Mirrors Edge will impress. Aside from that and what you mentioned I don't think there will be much more.

Best case scenario I can think of is a big The Last Guardian or Beyond Good and Evil 2 reveal, but that's dreaming big.

All I need is Elder Scrolls 6 and this will be a successful E3 for me.

Seriously another Elder Scrolls?! We've had 2 of them in the last 3-4yrs. Skyrim and ESO. It's Fallout's turn! Not another ES. We dont need it to go stale. No matter how much you want it, in your heart you know its time for another Fallout and you will concede or come off as a half wit.

I didn't like Fallout. For Fallout's fans, yes, it's time for a new one, and I personally don't count ESO as a main entry. However for my personal taste, I want Elder Scrolls 6.

Excited by Star Wars: Battlefront. I know I shouldn't as it is by EA and will be a DLC and microtransaction extravaganza but I love the thought of fighting it out as a Stormtrooper.

For some reason I am over Ubisoft, Warner Bros and Konami so not really caring about much else.

Heads up to everyone. Rise of the Tomb Raider looks kinda bad to be honest. Like, I don't even know what they're going for this time. Which is a shame cause my would-be-wife's next game isn't shaping up to be special. Hopefully what I saw will be shown at E3 so you can garner your own opinions on it.

Yeah, E3's a snoozer this year. I just want to see what Capcom and Bethesda are doing as I said before.

Are people really sleeping on this years E3, and if so: Why? I'd say I got an above average interest level this year.

I mean, we'll get the first glimpse at the new Mass Effect AND Fallout 4 (if true) this year – that alone is enough for me!

I also look very much forward to learn more about the Mad Max game, the movie offered some fantastic action perfect for a game, and that universe is just *excellent* to expand upon in a game. Huge potential.

Plus, there's *always* at least one wildcard surprise on these shows, a title that nobody knew of that everyone talks about afterwards. Not a year without it. So what will it be this year? I bet it's great!

And I'm totally into VR. I can't wait to let the open worlds fully engulf me. So I look forward to get a status update from all camps, from Oculus to Valve to, of course, Sony. Dates, prices, games… I expect them to spill the beans now.

And finally, the Steam Machines should now be lined up for show. And with that I also expect more great news in regards to SteamOS, not to mention a date for the first official version. And this should be interesting for all gamers regardless of platform, cause this is the first real shot at breaking the Windows hegemony on PC gaming.

So yeah… Loads of great stuff to hear from this year!

Probably there will be a sleeping gas during e3 conference, that's why people will fall asleep, I guess…

Really looking forward to Mass effects 4 too, I hope they show some gameplay of it, if not I will end up disappointed…

It will be like E3 is most years, disappointing.

TGS will be more interesting imo.

I hope i am wrong as i want a memorable E3 as much as anyone else. I've just been let down too many times to believe that this one will be any different to the previous ones.

Having said that though, a Silent Hills revival and some form of Last Guardian update would definitely be welcome.
