It's a dangerous world out there, so make sure you heed some expert advice.
And when we say experts, we're referring to people who have already played Bloodborne ; specifically, various Sony employees and testers.
They've assembled a list of 24 Survival Tips you should probably read before venturing forth in the horrific world of Yharnam.
Some are obvious, such as choosing your character's class and origin carefully, and hording as many Blood Echoes (the game's currency) as possible. But you also get hints as to the best possible buys, especially early on. For example, Molotovs will come in awfully handy while on the flip side, the Quicksilver Bullets are "hugely overpriced" so it's better to "make runs through Central Yharnam and scoop them off the snipers instead." It's also good to know that while the guns inflict minimal damage, they can still stun enemies, which is often invaluable.
Of course, the hardcore gamers out there (pretty much the only ones who will finish this particular title) will probably want to figure all this out for themselves, right?

This game is raking in some SERIOUS ratings! Last time I checked there's just ONE source who rated it lower than 90, and that score is 89! lol
I don't think I've seen anything like this in lord knows how long.

Nice!
It has received a couple more 80 scores now, but still after 29 reviews only three of them are less than 90, and none less than 80. This is a *glowing hot* reception.

The raves this game is getting is unreal. You would think by this point at least a handful of sites would have given it a bad review, just for the site hits. I mean that's what everyone of them did for the Order.
It's pure bullshit that sites did that for clicks, Deadman. It's a stupid fanboy explanation, don't fall for those theories. Same with those "they rate it lower cause it's a Sony exclusive" nonsense that some go on about.
The reviewers were not too happy with The Order, for various reasons. That is the full explanation.

*Goes back to The Order on a harder setting*
It's hard to convince a n00b to play bloodborne…
Why? I couldn't pull myself to replay the Order again after one play through. Harder difficulty wouldn't enhance the experience for me. I thought firefights on normal difficulty were already unfair due to the fact enemies just kept coming and coming….from where though? Lol have fun though, I'll be Bloodborning it up
lol, I was just highlighting the fact that I am unable to claim a piece of the joy for the good reception of this game since it isn't my thing.
I'm not a n00b I gave Demon's Souls the full college try and it just isn't my thing and these are all kinda in the same boat demon, dark, bloodborn. Can't enjoy it, but I'm glad for the fans. At least somebody gets to be happy this year.

I've played about 45min (via Vita remote play. I have my reasons). It's certainly different than what I'm used to.
I still can't believe the critical response this one has received. Yea, I expected generally solid reviews but I wasn't expecting a GotY candidate.
EDIT: and I was retarded to think the game would be like NG, at least as far as movement and response goes. I'm a big slow ox by way of comparison.

Very happy to see a bonafide diamond in the PS4's crown with Bloodborne, instead of people working overtime trying to convince everyone that mediocre cubic zirconium, like The Order 1886 was worthy of the label.
Haha
Still your opinion. Both games are good, considering your stance on everything. I am surprised you even like bloodborne. You are as bad as blank line.
Yes The Order it's like that plain girl that a group of people try to convince you it's hot, and Bloodborne it's that drop-dead gorgeous chick that for whatever the reason people nitpick on her.
don't think anyone was suggesting Order 1886 was a diamond. No. Instead it was about defending a game that was a lot better than the 5's and 6's it consistently got blasted with.
7 it's a decent game dude, I think Ben overrated it with that 8.
I would've rated it an 8.5
Dude you almost rate it like a 9 game :S of course I TOTALLY disagree with you but I'm curious what aspect of the game makes you rate it 0.5 more than Ben?
Yeah an 8.5 is ridiculously overrating that game. To me, a "diamond" is a must play game and EVERYONE was saying that about it, and while the game looked great, it was certainly not a must play game.
Objectively, it is piss poorly paced. Forced walking scenes for still inexplicable reasons, weapons given for a limited time, uneven chapters ( one chapter, a five minute cutscene with zero gameplay, another an hour ot movie/gameplay mix), with gameplay straight out of 2006.
Subjectively, a game that has a theme of monster hunters that only has three actual encounters with them, TWO of them being almost identical QTE fights is just moronic, misleading, and lazy, I don't give a damn how well the cobblestone is textured.
Game's a 6. A 7 if you just feel sorry for RAD for making such a mediocre freshman outing.
Oxvial, I don't know what aspect made it better than Ben's eval. I played the game through and then some. Thought it did a whole lot of some real nice things. Thought it could use about 1.5 – 2 points worth of an improvement for my liking. It won about .5 from me for it's freshness of being a tightly bound high production narrative driven experience that feels it's own in the current climate of games.
But my opinion is my own of course. And I've learned I don't need a majority approval to justify how I feel about a game. Sometimes the majority gets it wrong by me. Gran Turismo is another example of the majority getting it wrong by me. Yes Order 1886 received mixed reviews. Some felt it. Others didn't.
Though don't you sometimes wonder if the games that rate the highest consistently have more to do with it doing the greatest number of things most can identify and agree with? Sometimes games come along that challenge the status quo of current gamer passions. This is sometimes where "mixed reviews" come from I believe.
Hi Kid! Congrats! You're five.
