Ubisoft Will Continue To Work On BG&E2, Prince of Persia

In my mind, this year's E3 was a lot more about what wasn't shown as opposed to what was.

For instance, while we've been hearing about sequels for Beyond Good & Evil and Prince of Persia , no such projects showed up at E3 2014. However, Ubisoft says they haven't forgotten about those successful IPs.

During a recent IGN interview , publisher COO Yves Guillemot said that while gamers still have to wait, those IPs are still very much in existence:

"We are not going to stop those properties. We are going to work on them. The teams are really looking at what we can come [up] with. I think you will really like what you see in the future. It could take some time to make sure we are really delivering what we want."

We've been hearing about BG&E2 for years, and creative director Michel Ancel even revealed new concept art of the main character, Jade, earlier this year. We'd also heard that a new 2D Prince of Persia was in the works, and it was using the UbiArt Framework Engine, on display in Rayman Legends . Sadly, neither showed up at Ubisoft's conference last week.

C'mon, just announce one of them. I'll be happy with that for the time being…I can be extremely patient.

id love to see a new PoP but its gotta take a much darker grittier tone.
id love to see a new PoP thats like the warrior within, a much darker sinister prince with limb dismemberment and lots of gore!
that would make the perfect PoP game!

I actually felt that dark tone was too much of a polar opposite from the first. (Sands of Time, I mean) It's like they were completely different characters.

yeah it probably was the first 2 were very different games.
the original was far more puzzle focused as well, where warrior within was much darker and more combat acrobatic focused.
exactly why it is my favorite of the series.
warrior within was a much darker game, dunno why it just suited the prince quite well.
even in the third game i was constantly wishing the infection would completely consume him and the prince would take on that character, it just seems like the prince has always wanted to be the bad guy but cant because hes a prince.
id love to see a new PoP game in the style of warrior within, but with severe anger management issues like GOW kratos style.

I'd love to see a new PoP, but I'd like to see them return to the roots of an interesting character with wit. The Warrior Within game was too dark and took way too many layers away from the protagonist.

I remember playing the original on DOS way back in the day. lol. I loved Sands of Time. Never got around to finishing Warrior Within, though. Did some neat things gameplay wise, but found it so dark it became dull.

2D for the Prince of Persia doesn't sound so cool to me, but I would certainly appreciate there being some genuinely challenging parkour in a big budget game.

Recently I've felt as if parkour for many games has turned into a mere means of navigating the environment. This is fine for games like Infamous which began with such parkour in mind, but for games like Assassin's Creed for which parkour used to be one of the highlights of the gameplay,it is somewhat disappointing.
