Mere days before his game is to hit store shelves, the inFamous: Second Son lead designer checks out.
Jaime Griesemer, lead designer at Sucker Punch productions, has revealed that he has left the studio. He made the announcement on Twitter , adding that he's not prepared to discuss details just yet.
"I'm excited for people to get their hands on it. And yes, I have left [Sucker Punch]. Not really talking about it yet, tho."
Before joining the Sucker Punch team in 2011, Griesemer worked with Bungie for 12 years. He worked on all the Halo titles as well as the upcoming Destiny when it was in its early stages. Obviously, he was an important part of the Second Son development process, so it's kind of odd that he's leaving a few days before the game releases. Well, at least he says he's "excited" for people to play it.
Onward and upward for Griesemer? Or was there another reason for his leaving…?

Weird timing to be leaving. I hate it when people announce such serious information without giving any detail as to why.
First the Uncharted writer, then Jack Tretton and now the lead designer of Second Son? If I were World I would speculate that there's going to be an equivalent of Respawn Entertainment on Sony's side.
Yeah and Stig left Sony Santana Monica too. That one is a bit painful for me.

^this
Maybe MS purchased them all.
I did hear on a PlayStation podcast that MS did pick up half of those who where laid off at Santana Monica. But I'm assuming Sony kept their best people.
Well Stig was one of their most talented people there. Makes zero sense to let him go.
I bet he's just ready for something else and wasn't keen on Sucker Punch's new project. Time for a fresh start.
Aye, this I'd say. He's done the right thing and hung around until it's gone gold and the work's done, but now he's ready to move on. Perfect time to leave, probably – any other time and he'd be knee-deep in something.
Developer left Santa Monica, oh my…
Maybe he signed on to just do Second Son?

Maybe, he was only with them since 2011. But it's odd to leave just days before the game's release and to advertise that you've left.
Bad timing on his part I'd say. He's not Sucker Punch now so maybe he didn't care.
yeah well i'd like to see what he has too say with all the recent people events in the industry lately i want to know more specifics and yes the Xbots will jump on this i'm expecting that and all you wud agree but i want to hear his story cos there is always more to this than meets the eye i reckon
happy gaming =)
I don't know, wouldn't this be the LEAST odd time to leave if he's moving on to something else in his life?
I mean, he's honored his commitment to the game by seeing it through (it's obviously gone gold if hits shelves in a few days). A responsible and committed worker would see the project through to the end before moving on to something else.
If there was bad blood or a hostile work environment, then wouldn't he be more likely to leave midway through development?
He did saw the game through the end. Its off his hands now and other people are going to take care of promoting it and selling it.
It sounds like he was forced to leave. But he can't talk about it right now.
good question, why.
bit worrying whats going on with $onys staff there dropping like flies!
first half of team ico, then most of the staff at ESP, than $ony shuts down countless studios like liverpool of wipeout fame and zipper of socom fame, than tod pappy director for GOW ascension, then amy, then jack, then stig, and now jamie.
whos next to bite the chopping block?
gotta make you wonder what $onys doing to make all these guys who have been with them for so long, in some cases from the ps1 the very start, to jump ship like its the titanic!
Maybe Sony has shifted their focus more towards Japanese Games this generation and that might be the reason for scea layoff's.
Such a conspiracy. Two outcomes:
1) Sony is going to self destruct.
2) The lead staff that have left their studios just to secretly form a new super-team that Sony has planned for/created.
Now, both are false – but wouldn't they make for an interesting short story 😀
Can almost be good poetry.
what if its not that big of a deal or he just wants to not give the game or company any bad publicity.
