Is it a good idea to survey the fans to decide upon a direction for a franchise? Sure. Will Square Enix act upon the feedback they receive from those fans? I don't know, but at least they asked , so here's hoping the Kingdom Hearts franchise will benefit in the long run. I'd like to assume that the KHIII developers know what they're doing.
What's so infuriating about this poll is that I don't recall ever seeing any such survey for the once-revered Final Fantasy franchise. Years of decline and all we ever heard was that Square Enix acknowledged the backlash; there's zero evidence of that acknowledgement in recent FF titles, but whatever. I really don't remember ever seeing a survey like this and if such a survey did exist, I can almost guarantee I could've predicted the results and hence, Square Enix flat-out ignored them.
What I want to see now is simple: Just do the same thing with Final Fantasy . Hold a Facebook survey for that franchise and see what happens. After the world exploded with frustration and bitterness, maybe then they'll figure it out. Maybe.

I don't know if there was a survey for FFXIII-2 but I know they used feedback…and promptly took all of our suggestions the wrong way. Having large open areas to explore isn't fun when every single one is a disconnected piece of a nonsensical timeline where every quest is the same thing.
I'd love to answer such a survey though, and it'd be handy to have some backup to point to when dealing with the new fans who can't understand why us old timers like the original games (possible editorial from me incoming on that).
Whatever happens next SE is probably still in financial ruin so they may have to turn to us more often.

No.
I mean, I liked the gameplay more than XIII. But the story ending just made me angry. There are alternate endings if you do more, but none of them make it any better. At all.
The short answer is no, but if you want to be crushed with disappointment (as people sometimes do on purpose by finishing watching a straight-to-video movie, then yeah it's worth seeing how shockingly bad the ending is.
Us older gamers can become rather jaded. I had all but given up hope of seeing Final Fantasy return to what it once was after the XIII train wreck and the videos shown of XV. But XIV has shown SE can listen to the critics and fans and give us a product us longtime fans can enjoy. I don't expect to enjoy XV any more than I enjoyed XIII but XIV shows me SE can turn things around and hopefully sooner than later.
Looking at it from a more cynical side, it took them the absolutely epic disaster that was the original release of FFXIV to do anything.
Lets hope XV bombs and is even worse. Right?
I don't think XV is a real thing. I think it's vaporware again now.
I'm still pretty hopeful of XV, seeing as I was very much looking forward to it when it was Versus XIII. Action-rpg doesn't mean crappy rpg.
I think SE is trying to gauge the audience before jumping some guns. Hopefully they are not contemplating on doing to this franchise what they have done to Final Fantasy.
Anyone else notice how the Vita was not mentioned in the survey? I did at every opportunity when asked my opinion in my own words. Where is the Vita?
Folks should remember that SE didn't rule out more appearances by Lightning, not in her own games but I assume that means in Kingdom Hearts.
I hope she shows up in KH. I see no reason not to.
How epic would it be if she does show up, and we have to save her from trying to fight Sephiroth? Him demolishing her would, to me, kind of show they get what long time fans think.
I'd want to cut her tits from her body with Cloud's Buster Sword.
Counterproductive, World. In XIII-4, they'd just develop them even larger than the last title anyways.

Hahahaha, you have my sympathy Ben – take a deep breath, breath out, another deep breath, breath out…. I've been reading you getting more and more angry, and then disappointed, and then despairing, of Squeenix over the years, I can imagine this got you more than a little fired up! Here's hoping that they can turn themselves around and impress you again with XV (but deffo don't get those hopes up).
I filled out the survey. It the last box they asked is there anything else?
I basically said please don't try to cater to the call of duty crowd and make this an action game. I said keep the combat the same as in KH1 and all the RPG elements from KH1 and 2 the same but build on them.
I also said look how terribly things turn out when you ignore your roots. Giving them examples of how poorly ff13-2 and lightning returns have been received.
I wrote a lot in that box, here is to hoping it gets read and a lot of KH fans said the same thing.
If lightning is in the game she better be an enemy boss in the coliseum, I want to destroy her. Otherwise I'm going to cry that they don't just let her die already.
I stopped caring about the fact that Square Enix cared what we thought about the franchise after FF12.
Not taking any damned survey. They'll continue doing the same damned thing.
A lot of the questions are geared at making them feel great about themselves. It's difficult to answer any of them negatively.
They want to ruin KH too! They ask us what we want so as to not include it and make it bad! I personally think that there was nothing wrong with kh2 and think that they should keep the gameplay the same and change NOTHING!!!
Wow not a single one of you said something about a FF7 remake, i'am impressed. We all know that will never happen.. As for KH3, theres is no hope which is sad because i really enjoyed KH and KH2.
