Pre-Order Bonuses Announced for Red Dead Redemption II

Earlier today, Rockstar announced the pre-order bonuses available for their upcoming Red Dead Redemption II, with five increasingly rewarding tiers to choose from. All pre-orders from any retailer/outlet will include the War Horse (an extra tough personal steed) and the Outlaw Survival Kit, which promises, “a collection of key supplies for enduring the rigors of life on the frontier, including items to replenish Health, Dead Eye and more.”

Digital pre-orders on either the PSN or Xbox stores additionally feature cash bonuses and treasure maps, but it’s the final three tiers where things get truly interesting, or crazy depending on your viewpoint. The Special Edition contains all previously mentioned bonuses in addition to even more horses, cash bonuses, discounts, outfits and even exclusive story content:

The Ultimate Edition includes all of that and more, with the most notable addition bringing rank bonuses to online play, allowing you to level up faster than other players, up to level 25:

But Rockstar isn’t done yet. For the truly fanatical, there is a limited edition Collector’s Box, available only at a few retailers in addition to the Rockstar Warehouse, offering a metal tithing box, playing cards, cigarette cards, a treasure map, puzzles, books, steel pins and more:

Each digital or higher pre-order also comes with bonus GTA$, if you’re one of the many still playing GTA Online, with different amounts based on which tier you selected:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Standard Edition Digital Pre-Order: Get GTA$500,000
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Special Edition Digital Pre-Order: Get GTA$1,000,000
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition Digital Pre-Order: Get GTA$2,000,000

The collector in me is really digging that box. My wallet on the other hand isn’t quite so fond of the idea.
