Ben-DutkaFor Final Fantasy fans, there's a PSP title coming that could help restore the franchise's good name.
It's Final Fantasy Type-0 , and Square Enix has just released a bunch of new screenshots along with plenty of fresh gameplay information. Would you be interested to learn about a strategy feature…?
As described at DualShockers , this new feature is called Conquest Battle. Basically, it consists of real-time strategy missions, "with the objective of protecting an allied base or conquering an enemy one." The interesting part about these encounters is that the outcome of such battles "will determine control of the world map." In addition to this revelation, we learn about new characters: Aria, Carla, Nagi, Caetun, Diva, Enkidu, and the oddly named Cramberry Knights. The latter are moogles who take care of the characters (each moogle is in charge of a class). Well, you gotta have moogles.
Now this brings up an interesting question: do you like strategy elements in your RPGs? Or should strategy stay in strategy games like Disgaea ? Is the RTS part of Final Fantasy Type-0 an enhancement or a drawback? Well, while you consider, make sure to check out those screenshots, too.

I like shining force? But straight up strategy I'm not big on. I enjoyed the strategy mode in Soul Calibur 3, but that wasn't ENTIRELY strategy. But I mean this game isn't even confirmed for North America yet so…
If it's similar to Final Fantasy VII fort condor RTS mini game that would be cool 😀

Sounds fine by me. If they ever remaster this for the PS3, I'll grab it in a heartbeat. As is though, not too interested in playing my PSP anymore (especially now that the PS Vita is coming).
I don't mind strategy elements in RPGs, I like Strategy RPGs a lot. Final Fantasy Tactics is one of my favorites.
However, I really don't like RTSs. I don't know how serious of an aspect this is, but initially upon hearing this, it is most certainly a drawback for me. We'll see.
