PSP Entertainment Pack For “Dads And Grads” Revealed

Don't own the PSP yet? Don't want to wait until the NGP launches?

If you're into sports games of all kinds, this latest entertainment pack opportunity is great: Sony has revealed a new Limited Edition PSP bundle for "dads and grads," and it comes with a piano black PSP-3000, a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, and two exclusive titles. The games in question are Gran Turismo and MLB 11: The Show , a couple of fantastic ways to pass the time when on the road. This nice little package will only cost you $159.99, too. There's no knowing when the Next Generation Portable will arrive and besides, the PSP's library is really quite impressive. Regardless of your tastes in gaming, you can most likely find something you'll enjoy, and the price to get involved is quite agreeable these days.

We'll let you know whenever the NGP nails down a date and price. It's guaranteed to be more expensive than $160, though.

Related Game(s): MLB 11: The Show, Gran Turismo

Actually im waiting for the NGP.
One question btw, will the NGP have a good internet browser, capable of streaming megavideo or tvdex etc etc?

And what news on Xvid/Divx support? anyone know, im a bit of a movie fan, and if this thing is great for portable movies (which my nokia e63 isnt, good but not made for movies, its made for business) then itd be even better for me.

No idea on the browser, I would hope it's better though, it really needs to be Web standards compliant for the kind of device they are positioning NGP to be. Netflix? Don't know, but again I think it's reasonable to expect it to work well since NGP is anticipated to be an integral element to the future of PSN and PlayStation brand services, which includes access to services like Netflix.

Well ill take that as reassuring at remain optimistic then, seems logical that this thing should be a beast, its rumoured to be, and meant to be competing with the best, it needs to stand out.
Hopefully we get that kinda vid support, netflix, divx etc etc.

Now would be a perfect time to get the PSP (3000, not GO). The library of games is so huge now and they're all cheaply priced.

Also super excited for the NGP. Hope they announce a cool rpg at E3 for it. =^.^=

Indeed, but buy as many games as you can as downloads, the NGP will not play UMDs, and PSP downloadable games may/should play on the NGP.

You're right in wanting to buy them digitally so you can play them on your shiny new NGP later this year, but I find them to be way overpriced on the PS store. It should be the opposite where the physical copy costs more.

I like to physically own games as well, so if they're not extra cheap then I see it as kind of a ripoff. There's also a lot of great PSP games missing from the store (Final Fantasy 1, 2, Tactics TWotL, Star Ocean 1, 2), which is lame.

/end rant (sorry!!)

There are some that are worth it though, like MGS Portable Ops for only $9.99. =)

Aw dangit. I really want a new PSP because my old one (PSP-1000) has pretty much become unplayable but the NGP is so close now. I'm craving for the RPG's like Valkyria Chro. 2!

they would actually have to release some games first before people think about this!
cant believe how sony has treated the PSP, i mean come on $E alone is supporting it better!
not to mention no adds for it!
what happened to that marcus kid they showed at E3 last year?
that lasted long!
hopefully they have learned there lesson with this, or the NGP is going to sink faster then the titanic!
