Japan Gets Peace Walker Soundtrack

Konami has always produced games worthy of separate soundtracks. You will find some of the best video game music in long-running franchises like Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania .

However, these separate soundtracks don't always find their way to North American stores, which is why you may have to import the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker soundtrack , which is scheduled to launch alongside the highly anticipated PSP game in Japan. Well, actually, you can get it one day early – March 17 – at the Japanese Konami Style store, for the somewhat steep cost of 2,940 yen, or about $30. If you're a true die-hard MGS fan, though, you'll want to buy the better version for 4,515 yen (nearly $50), which gives you the "Heaven's Divide" single on a separate disc. Now, this song is actually on the regular soundtrack disc but this special bonus also features "Koi no Yokushiryoku," which is Paz Ortega Andrade's theme. Personally, I'm not entirely sure how one extra tune is worth another twenty bucks but perhaps an extremely knowledgeable Metal Gear Solid fan can explain it to me. I'm also hoping gamers outside Japan will have the option of buying this guaranteed-awesome soundtrack; I never got the soundtrack for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night , which still annoys me to this day.

Anyway, Peace Walker could very well be the one game that absolutely every PSP owner wants next year. Just about anything MGS-related is kinda like that.

Really? i thought the Special Edition was a huge let down. The soundtrack is easily forgetable. The documentary is very bland (Not nearly as imformative as the documentary released with MGS2) and in the UK you get a toy….. I don't know what to do with that, i just have mine on my shelf posing with one hand on his hip and another in the air as if hes shaking is hand with one finger up saying "Non,no,no" ;). No idea what to do with that. I wish i didnt pay double retail price for it. Huge disapointment.

no the packaging was beautiful.
shine black plastic to match the PS3, silver lining inside to reflect the light, a snake figurine, artbook filled with concept art.
and i loved the making of documentary.
all limited editions should have this, i got a real kick out of watching it, getting a view of game developments like since thats what i want to do for a career.
the packaging for MGS4 LE is the best i have ever bought and it would want to be also at 180 bucks.

maybe different regions had different content.
most limited editions are crappy.
like the GTAIV one was some crap in a tin box, boring and ugly!
same for saints row initiation pack.
same for assassins creed.
infamous was a few DLC codes in a cardboard fold out sleeve.
same for uncharted 2 and R&C ACIT.
MGS4, and assassins creed 2 are the only limited editions i liked and would call beautiful, and there the only ones close to worth there money and there also the most expensive.

i'll definitely be giving PEace Walker a bit of my time, it looks great. I mean generally everything Metal Gear is awesome like Ben mentioned.

Just about every Hideo Kojima production is just that, phenomenal.

sweet, finally a decent game on the PSP.
its about bloody time!
hopefully this is not like MGS4 though.
1 hour of movie, 20 minutes of gameplay, 1 hour of movie, 20 minutes of gameplay.
i dont know about you but i want to PLAY my games not WATCH them.

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, Dissidia and LittleBigPlanet are all "decent games".

There's been plenty of good games for the PSP.

yea but 99.99% of PSP games are also available on the ps3 if not the same version something very similar.
like this year the only PSP games to release i wanted were little big planet which is also on the ps3, and assassins creed bloodlines which is very similar to AC2.
the PSP needs to get some love in the sence of some PSP exclusive games, just like the PS3 has.
i would kill for another GOW, syphon filter, ratchet and clank, resistance, GTA game.
or a first Devil may cry game on PSP, or a first resident evil game on PSP.
the PSP has plenty of games theres no denying that, but 99.99% of those are also available on the ps3.
the PSP is getting more love from third party developers than first party developers, thats kinda sad!
third party developers like EA are more interested in the PSP than the people who make it.
thats extremley sad!

That's my issue with the PSP, The console doesnt have any good titles for its own, only sequels/spin offs of good Playstation game series
