It's one of the biggest titles of the year for the PSP and while it sold relatively well, Square-Enix needed to do more to bring the game to an even bigger audience.
The days are getting colder in many parts of the world, which means you might feel less inclined to visit the store. But with the ever-expanding PlayStation Store, you don't have to miss out on the fun and if you crave the fast-paced action Dissidia offers, we've got good news. According to Final Fantasy Union , Square-Enix's best handheld effort of the year is now available for download on the PSN in the US. This is something the fans have been asking for and Square-Enix isn't in the business of disappointing those who assist in paying their staff. Also, it shouldn't be too surprising to learn that Dissidia fared better on the sales charts in Japan; putting it on the Store here in North America could help to boost Western sales. As time goes on, you'll likely see more titles available for download, although most aren't too interested in the idea of all games going digital. We still love our physical, tangible collections, ya know?
Anyway, if you missed out on Dissidia earlier, now's your chance to snag it without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. That's always a bonus.

All I can say is that it's about time. Now what about Crisis Core?
Not that I care personally since I have both on UMD, but I feel bad for anyone who bought a Go and can't play these games. S-E has been extremely slow about supporting these things.
This is great news!
This is one of the best PSP games this year. I have been playing this for almost 80 hours and i've only maxed out Cloud, Squall and Gabranth. I'm working on Tidus now. So much to do. Great game.
Now they need to hurry up and put FFVIII up in N. America. Tired of waiting. Don't know why it's taking so long. Dissidia went up in Japan and a week later it's up here. FFVIII has been up in japan for over a month now.

I agree with you about the FFVIII thing.
I believe EVERY REMADE AND ENHANCED OLD SCHOOL Final Fantasy, the old school FF's that wasnt remade, and FF 8 and 9 should be on PSN right now. But Square will milk it out a bit and let peeps buy them over a period of time.
But I cant say how cool it is that Square is bringing out Dissidia so fast on PSN. There is only one problem though …..
I WANT VAGRANT STORY!!!!!!
End of Line.
What about europe?
To late, already own my physical version.
