Well, perhaps some ports were just never meant to be. It's probably better to can 'em than to let them disappoint, though.
The Wii version of Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed was a mostly mediocre addition to the system's library, but PSP owners were hoping their version would receive a quality overhaul. Instead, it's not getting an overhaul at all, as according to IGN, a THQ representative has confirmed that the handheld version of Big Willy Unleashed has been canceled. Said the rep-
"Basically, the PSP version was cancelled because of control issues. Big Willy Unleashed was designed by [a] Wii developer specifically for the Wii. When it was ported over to the PSP, the controls simply didn't translate well, and instead of pushing out the product with translated controls, it was cancelled."
Eh, PSP owners may be better off. It didn't turn out well for the Wii, and if they were having significant problems with the control for the PSP version, we doubt anyone would be interested in the final result. We've already seen plenty of crappy ports so far this generation (especially between the Xbox 360 and PS3), and we often ask ourselves, "why'd they even bother?" Well, they're not bothering. Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed for the PSP is no more.
