Deus Ex DLC The Missing Link Adds Five More Hours

Some downloadable content are sort of tacked-on extras that aren't worth the cost of admission.

But the first batch of DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution should be well worth your time and money. Eidos marketing boss David Bedard has issued some new details about The Missing Link, which will augment this stellar sci-fi experience. …yeah, we try to use "augment" or some variation on the word in every Deus Ex -related article.

Firstly, it will be a big file (1.5GB in size) and secondly, that big download will grant you around 5 more hours of gameplay. Thirdly, it seems the The Missing Link won't be included in the game's primary narrative, and there won't be an option to reset your augmentations. That was a point of confusion when we first heard about this DLC. Said Bedard:

"The Missing Link will not appear in the main game narrative, and your augmentation set in The Missing Link will not carry over to the main game after you’ve completed it. While gameplay-wise The Missing Link is not tied back into the main game, narratively you will find out things that will shed some much needed light on some of the… shadier sections of the Human Revolution world."

By the way, I finished the game over the weekend and the ending was fantastic. For those who are familiar, I picked the "middle" option when facing the final console. 🙂

Reviews and sales for Human Revolution seems to be very good. It won't surprise me at all if a sequel gets announced soon.

DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE END OF DEUS EX

at the end of the game if you watch the credits and what comes after you see a strong lead for a follow up to this. the guy called Bob was setting up for another game. i cant remember what name he said though.

the endings were good but the choices you make throughout the game really dont do much.
it leaves far too much open too, i guess they did that on purpose for the DLC but still gets really annoying!
might pick this up next year far too many games to enjoy for now.
i just hope its from eidos montreal and not that external company they outsourced the boss battles too!
so thats why they sucked so hard!

I also finished the game a few days ago. i have to say that i take back my earlier comments about the story. the begining was slow but it picks up and gets really good. i did save malik but it took me a few trys. i kept trying to try to fight from a distance but it didnt work. i ended up just runnin in and blasing everyone point blank.

i give this game a 9+. i have no doubt some dlc for it will be fantastic. since i only have a free rental of it from blockbuster right now i dont think i will buy the dlc. at least not til i own the game.

as for the end, i picked all 4 options. i went through and did them all. i savcd and kept reloading to see them all. my first choice was the middle also. this game felt a lot like metal gear solid to me.

I was really disappointed with the end of Deus Ex. All of the awesome stuff you do as Adam is condensed down to "press this button to be good, this one to be bad, this one if you can't decide."

And it wasnt even satisfying after that. I picked the bad route for kicks and it just showed a collection of stock videos stitched together with a vague philosophical voiceover. I'm assuming the other choices resulted in the same thing. It was disappointing after putting all of that time into the game.

Wow – 5 hours? That should be closer to 10 hours played in my tempo. 😀

But length is one thing: Is it *good*?…

I picked the middle option as well, but to be honest I didn't like the ending that much it felt like it came apart. But great game overall.

So want, oh and for me that middle option's monologue is much better than any of the other options.
