Dungeon Siege III DLC: New Content, Gameplay Upgrades

Dungeon Siege III is a solid, lengthy, entertaining dungeon crawler, and it definitely deserves some extra content.

Square Enix has announced the first piece of DLC for Obsidian's RPG; it's Treasures of the Sun, and it'll launch in October on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live service, and Steam.

For $9.99, you can grab "several additional hours of gameplay" thanks to a new plot arc and more quests, enemies, and loot. The new environment will be the Aranoi Desert; as players set off in search of a lost Legion hero, they will find a forgotten abbey that holds an ancient secret.

Plus, the developer has revealed a few refinements and additions to the gameplay, which might be the biggest reason to pick up Treasures of the Sun. Check it out:

New abilities: Players will be able to attain mastery of the arcane through powerful new attack, defense and healing abilities.

Level up to 35: DUNGEON SIEGE III: TREASURES OF THE SUN will further power up players by raising DUNGEON SIEGE III's existing level cap from 30 to 35.

More monsters and items: Players will encounter new monsters in the Aranoi Desert-including mummies and giant skeletons-and will find more powerful items, adding to the thousands already available in DUNGEON SIEGE III.

Reallocate Talent & Proficiency Points: Players can reallocate points spent in Proficiencies and Talents, enabling changes to character customization throughout the campaign.

New Enchanting System: Transmuting items now gives players chances at gaining powerful new Vials that allow them to enhance their weapons and armor through the DLC's new enchanting system.

Dungeon Siege III really is the closest you're going to get to to Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance this generation. It has a few issues but some of the combat will be enhanced thanks to this DLC, and the extra content is always worth a look.

I was extremely let down by this game.

It didn't charm me in anyway and re-purchasing Dark Alliance for 98p satisfied me 10x more. What's more, the PSN title Dungeon Hunter was a lot better, despite it not being as in depth….it just excelled in every other area…especially the online/local co-op which is an embarrassment in Dungeon Siege.

I think Diablo is the last hope for this type of game….unless Baldur's Gate or Champians return.

Dude! I AGREE with you a hundred times over!

Me and my friends are taking our time going through Dungeon Hunter. All that game needs is a little tweak on some aspects, and it'd be an amazing co-op dungeon crawler game. As it is, it's still a solid buy on PSN!

Dungeon Hunter is one of my favourite games of the year. A solid 8/10 for me. It'd be a 9+ if it was full budget.

The co-op on Dungeon Hunter was flawless near enough, whether it's my preferred local co-op or the robust online co-op that actually lets your character join anothers as is…it's always fun and addictive.

Dungeon Hunter got a stellar response and sold very well so we could see another from them.

And I don't see why so many people hate on it. It's not game of the year material or anything, but it's a decent hack-n-slash dungeon crawl, and the co-op can be a lot of fun! Of course, I'm biased toward couch co-op games, but still, it's been a lot of fun for my family!
